BA - Cool dad, battered husband. If I was in charge of the schedule... Round 26 Thusday Melbourne Storm vs Cronulla Sharks Biggest game of the round, showcased to the largest potential audience to build hype heading into the finals. This could potentially be a Grand Final preview, gives us a rare chance to go to Melbourne and talk about the likes of Munster, Bromwich, Harris etc. without them seeming like total strangers to the vast majority of league supporters. Friday North Queensland vs Gold Coast Titans A Queensland derby and could very well decide the Gold Coast Titans fate. Again, the Cowboys have plenty of stars to talk about while the likes of Taylor, James, MacDonald, Paasi can all be spoken up as well. Saturday Warriors v Parramatta Eels The Eels in 2016 are a mere after-thought while the Warriors need to be protected more. There's potential for this to be an exciting game, so you can keep the fans tuned in for later. St George Illawarra vs Newcastle If you want a two hour break from footy, this is your chance. This should be a Dragons squash match and opportunity to qualify for the finals. Wests Tigers vs Canberra Raiders Give these two exciting teams the main event slot to close out the night and highlight the up and coming talent. Has potential to be an exciting game, so fans who may otherwise tune out, may stick with it because of the contest. Sunday Penrith Panthers vs Manly Sea Eagles Penrith are a good opening act, not the greatest footy team but have flashes of brilliance which makes for exciting television. I think Sunday games should be reserved for departing players and while it isn't a home-game, Lyon has been around long enough to deserve a Sunday slot. Brisbane Broncos vs Sydney Roosters 9 gets their Broncos fix, and the fans from all-around Queensland get a chance to farewell one of the longest serving players in what could actually be a decent game if the Roosters build some momentum. The Broncos should still win, but I could see there being some anxious moments. Plus with JWH in the Roosters, it's easy to paint him as a villain up here and promote a Thaiday v Warea-Hargreaves angle. Canterbury-Bankstown v South Sydney Rabbitohs ANZ is a huge stadium, so let's give fans every opportunity of heading out there by placing this game on a Sunday. The game isn't relevant enough to be on FTA and the NRL should be showcasing their best teams heading into the finals.
