I am sorry but if you can not afford to play in our game then you should not be here. Currently the salary cap is holding back 12 or so clubs because a tiny handfull are running out of money. I would love to see all our clubs succeed but when there are currently 9 teams based in Sydney and the current economic situation, they simply will not survive. It is just a matter of time until clubs start folding. I for one would rather see a 12 team comp and have the likes of the players i have mentioned, than see a 16 team comp all containing players that are yet to reach superstar status. And once they do, they leave. Allowing each club to have only 1 marquee player will still even out the talent whilst stopping a few clubs from buying everyone. With the further 50% reduction for local Juniors, this will give players an added incentive to stick with their club. K. Hunt for instance is what 22? He was offered $400K a season for 4 years. He would be 26 when he is off contract next and what would he want then? $600K $700K? With the current salary cap, there is no way the Broncos would ever afford his next contract.
