Simply beaten by the better team. You can’t make that many missed tackles and expect to win. Out coached, out selected and simply completed. Queensland looked like broncos team of this year except they muscled well in defence. Middle defence was killer. Fittler was smart enough to fake that they would burn us with speed on outside so we gave them massive holes in middle which Tedesco strolled past grab ‘tackles’. Good news is real heart in muscling up and playing through fatigue and NSW had every 60:40 let alone 50:50 decision. For Queensland. 14. Morgan. 6 tried and was solid in defence (although lately try was a joke 3 guys were there and Turbos looked a double movement only needed a finger on him and Morgan had a hand on thigh from crap channel 9 views). Did well on short notice as but bad selection - needed spark of Munster. 2. Holmes 5. Cost two, earned one. Good metres at times and great kicking. Think he might be a flat track bully but wait and see. 3. Inglis. 7. Lifted for captaincy. Real leadership by example with defence. Doesn’t look great in attack but was serviceable and kept Roberts out of the game. Not sure with his leg get any more than that but for now was enough. 4. Chambers. 1. If it wasn’t for lose inside defence could blame him for the loss. Terrible. Meters but again ball hog. Isn’t this guy a defensive specialist? Doubt I could have defended worse out there after a a bottle of whisky. Bad reads, poor attempted tackles, no sense of the guys around him. If doesn’t deliver he might need his own transition. 5. Gagai. 5. Big meters but wasted outside chambers. Wasn’t last series good but did his job playing injured. 6. Munster. 5. Dangerous and much more than rest of spine but needs a halfback much like rest of the team. A few dodgy tackle attempts. 7. Hunt 2. Why do people think this guy is a halfback? Does it just say it so much everyone gets tired of hearing it and let him have what he wants? Took about 1 minute at hooker to both show up Macca and his own play at 7. And how did Kevvie ever think playing 3 non halfbacks and a crap attacking hooker would create points. We should have added at least 4 tried with opportunities. Defensively caught out but at hooker he doesn’t have to do those reads or wide tackles alone. 8.Napa. 6. Fair meters, a couple of hits. Not bad and helped keep NSW pack controlled but hope he steps up next game. 9. Macca. 4. Usual Macca mediocrity. High defensive work rate which will be lauded as be all and end all with no view to bigger picture, overrated effect on holding centre and f***ing sh*t service and attack. Serves the halves up on a platter to NSW. Might save a try a game on a poor defensive hooker but costs more in poor start to every play. Used poorly as a defensive workhorse again. I was so excited when hint stepped into hooker and saw someone actually run, kick and pass the ball like an actual professional footballer. More specific score should be attack 1, defence 7. 10. Wallace. 2. Not good enough. 3 runs. Channeled his bronco plodder days. 11. Cooper 3. Similarly not good enough. Need Gillo fit. 12. Kafusi. 7. Killed himself tackling and running. Needs to toughen the middle a little bit what can u expect when doing another forwards work by himself. 13. McGuire 4. Mainly based on his 4th tackle efforts. Big heart especially after injured. Needed to toughen centre more but that will come with match fitness. Go to prop and never pass lock again. 15. Papali. 6. Good meters for runs. Needed more as a senior forward but wasn’t bad. 16. Hess. 5. Give young bloke time. Would prefer he had more time before stepped up to origin but limited alternatives. 17. Arrow. 4. Not great but solid. Another one would prefer a year or two before debuted but injuries and limited depth... 19. Milf. ? Wasted again. But he should be used to that feeling by now playing for Broncs and crying himself to sleep on bed made of $100 notes. Solutions. 1. Slater/Munster 2. Holmes (prefer Oates but he kicks) 3. Inglis 4. Minster/Chambers 5. Gagai (Oates if not fit) 6. Milf 7. DCE. (Last series or he is done if doesn’t prove he isn’t our Mitchell Pearce or can’t play by team culture) 8. Napa 9. Hunt 10. McGuire 11. Kafusi 12 Gillo only if 100%. If not Kafusi to 12 and Cooper (on very thin ice) 13. Pappali but rather bring Carroll out of retirement than play McGuire. 14. Morgan 15. Wallace 16. Arrow 17. Hess 18. Oates 19. Ponga
