Milford and Hunt started the season on fire for the Broncos, guiding Brisbane to seven wins from the club's first eight games. But the past six weeks have been a struggle for the Broncos – losing four of their last six matches. Much of the blame for Brisbane's recent poor form has fallen on the shoulders of the Broncos' halves, but Thaiday says this shouldn't be the case, instead endorsing the pair as Brisbane's future. "They're still learning every day," Thaiday said. "We still haven't seen the best of them and that's the best thing for the Broncos as a club and Brisbane fans. "One day these guys are going to be absolutely unstoppable. "I hope they are both wearing a Broncos jersey for many years to come because they both have so much potential." The fact Milford and Hunt made an NRL Grand Final in their first year playing together is a remarkable achievement and Thaiday says that although their form may fluctuate, the two Brisbane halves will continue to bring great things to the Broncos. "Milford is still a little bit up and down at the moment. He'll start nailing a few more things with experience and a bit of age," he said. "Ben Hunt's exactly the same, and the more those guys play together, the better the combination will be. "I'm excited to see what they can do over the next few years for sure." But it's not just the Broncos' halves situation that will excite Brisbane fans, with a plethora of young forwards coming through the club in 2016. 31-year-old Thaiday says it's great to see the next generation coming through as he and fellow forwards Adam Blair and Corey Parker go into their 30s. "Tevita Pangai Jnr has been fantastic for us and Herman Ese'ese has been really good as well," he said. "A lot of our debutants this year have come out and shown why they are a part of the Broncos. "Young Jai Arrow is another… He's come through our Under 20's system and has now had his chance in first grade. "We do have a bit of an ageing forward pack so it's good to have these young guys playing now and learning some things off Corey Parker and myself. "Matt Gillett has played a lot of club and representative games now as well so he's helped them develop a lot. "The more of these young guys that we can blood now, the better our club will be in the future." Brisbane have the Bye this week before travelling to Sydney to play the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium. The Broncos will have six players on a four-day turnaround because of State of Origin duty, and coach Wayne Bennett is yet to decide on whom he will rest for the important clash between two top four hopefuls.
