I think that the broncos just need to take the cowboys approach and put all their NRL potential players in one team and the fringe plodders in the other teams. The obvious flaws of the current system is that future NRL players aren’t all building combinations week in week out. Im sure Kev and the club have some say in game plans and playing structures for the affiliate teams but it’s dispersed over a number of other coaches. Panthers do so well because their reserve team plays the exact style of football their NRL team does and are able to do a great job of “next man up”. Broncos can’t have that. The other issue is that under the current system, no players are officially broncos until they are 18. Sure they get signed at 16 or 17 but they don’t put on the jersey or trining gear until later. Patty not being a “bronco” until he was 18 is tragedy. These guys all have a loyalty and strong association with clubs other than the broncos
