The 28-0 game flattered the Chooks tremendously. I think the Broncos held them near scoreless for the first 40 and then the Chooks went on with it when the Broncos took more players off. I don't think defence dominated at all, the Chooks missed some important tackles and conceded 5 linebreaks in the first half alone. I don't know where you got 4 try savers from the first half from, it was three on my count and only one was something worth making mention of, the rest were all very elementary. Last time I checked, Rugby League was made up of more facets and all Phillips brought to the table was the ability to make simple tackles and kick goals from right infront. Meanwhile, one of the game's greatest players is beating most first tackle attempts, kicking pin point long range kicks, settting up tries and being awesome in general. All Phillips got was the 9 commentary team to act all sentimental because omg agenda. Nothing different to them waxing lyrical about Idris' dreadlocks or how awesome Benji Marshall is when the Tigers are being dead-beats. I love the Raging Bull Bman, he's the player that brought me into this board and maybe the reason I'm right here, right now, but stuff me, he added nothing to that game. Infact, most of the forwards sucked that game except for Thorn who was great and deserves more respect. I just don't think we watched the same game at all. It was a strange game, Brisbane sort of played a backline game as Dell made mention post-match but weren't willing to be too risky and throw unnecessary passes. Roosters tried the same but young Mini, Cross, Hegarty, Sing and PHILLIPS couldn't compete with what the Broncos had to offer. This was also the game that I think earned Fittler the overrated award. The commies were so quick to pour on him being injured despite not really showing up on the telly and honestly, he was kind of crap before then too. Brisbane were just the best at a time where they should have been a transitional period. Unlimited interchanges + amazing coaching + great talent for life.
