The Roosters are getting superb value out of players like the Morris boys who were borderline journeymen before they signed, Isaac Liu who is probably on no more than what we pay Offa, Collins, Tupouniua and even Ikuvau when called on who i believe still works as a teacher. Throw in the likes of Tupou, Lussick, Aubusson, Radley and Taukeiaho who all play above their contracts, its just a great mix. Sure they have some well paid superstars in Tedesco, JWH, Cleary and Cordner but they also get value from them, Teddy is arguably the most valuable player in the game on what we would be paying Bird or Milford. SBW would be playing for **** all $, it would be like tolerating opposition fans having a pop at us for signing Teo. At the start of this season they lost Cronk and Tetevano and signed Flanagan and eventually picked up the Morris boys, hardly screams rorting the system to me. If we had have signed Flanagan this board would have melted with negative posts. Is it a great shock that Keary wanted to stay? I'm sure he is getting a decent salary on the books and who were reported to be offering him $1M+ contracts, even if it was the Broncos why would he want to leave the Roosters after they have helped him become one of the best playmakers in the game? Sometimes i feel this board just likes the cheap gag of "Roosters sign everyone durrr..." and i hope that's the case rather than just jealousy about a well run club with a good eye for talent in a purple patch of having the right mix of players and coach.
