I've got pretty similar sentiments to other on here as well. It was a one man band for NSW and outside Hayne they were good-ish but not brilliant. Hayne had one of the most dominant performances I have seen. I thought Reynolds and Hodkinson were solid but no better than Pearce and Malony. It was telling that Hayne was playing FB, halfback and 5/8th in the second half. With our guys, we lacked polish and cohesion. Obviously the Cronk injury played a bit part in that, but it looked like we didn't train hard enough. I was discussing this with my mates and came to the conclusion that we probably should have had a few more training sessions and less media commitments (if that is possible.) I thought Teo and Gurrea where outstanding. Gurrea really surprised me and was probably our best forward. Probably should be starting next game. Teo gave us good attack in the second half (albeit no try though). Parker had another good game but did give away that penalty goal. He seems frustrated, has been giving away a lot of penalties for us this season. Scott and Myles were solid but did not provide enough go-forward. Mcqueen was awful, Gillett was ok-ish but missing for most of the game and Papilli made no impact whatsoever. That is our weakness. We really really missed Thaiday tonight. With the backs, I though Slater was phenomenal and Hodges and Tate were fantastic as well. Inglis as did not get enough good ball and hence made little impact. As others have said, he was flat-footed too many times. I personally feel Slater confirmed why he should stay at FB tonight, but something needs to be done about Inglis and the lack of ball. Thurston did have an off game and yea DCE didn't step up but tough to step up in that circumstance. Goal kicking didn't really cost us though - Thurston's tough kicks from the sideline counterbalanced by Hogkinson missing two relatively easy chances. I thought Smith had a poor game as well, pretty terrible first half from him. Did get a bit better in the 2nd half though All in all, we hade no go-forward and looked too rusty. Big ask to win in Sydney without Cronk and with NSW getting Bird and Fafita back.
