Slater was the best for QLD by a country mile. Love how he just keeps proving the doubters wrong. Inglis certainly didn't show why he should be the fullback. He looked slow, lazy, and completely uninterested in being there. One of the worst matches I've ever seen him play. Myles was tremendous too. That second half of his was just awesome to watch, going in to smash the ball carrier with every tackle. Pulled off a few bell ringers and just kept going all night. Guerra was fantastic, will be in the team for a while if he keeps that up. Te'o was very good, made some good runs and was hitting hard in defense. Everyone else was either average or below. Our lack of props really killed us, as many expected. We just made no ground all game. Thurston was terrible, making some huge blunders, and DCE clearly shouldn't have been picked because of his injury. Carrying an injured player into a State of Origin, especially the opener, is just ridiculous. I wasn't expecting us to win with the team we chose. Gillett shouldn't have been there after his previous origin showings, and his tendency to drop the ball cold at least once a match, and I hope to god he's dropped for game 2. McQueen can't even make the starting team for souths this year, and while he was very good in Origin last year, his form this year doesn't even remotely warrant selection. Scott has been killing it the last few weeks, so was very surprised by his lackluster showing. He didn't have much help though. Boyd moved up closer to being the all time leading Origin tryscorer while doing not much. I think that first try of his was the most contact that he's ever had to contend with while scoring. He's been pathetic all year, didn't deserve to be there. I'd have given Vidot a go. I thought last year was the end of the dynasty, was glad to be wrong, but I can't see us winning this especially after losing Cronk and potentially Slater for game 2.
