While I'm much like the others in that I don't really care either way about the players off the field (apart from wanting them to conduct themselves as classy representatives of a proud club), I don't think that gives the players the right to ignore everybody. There are people who idolise them and want some recognition of that during and after games at the least. I still think that's a responsibility of their positions as entertainers. And agree with mick that it's the club's responsibility as an organisation to lift its game in terms of resources available to fans, particularly supporter groups, as one of their primary sources of income, and also as a primary source of popularity which drives their bargaining power for sponsorship etc. Kee: but to do so, supporters groups have to basically buy a whole bunch of season tickets. This isn't great for groups who have a fairly liquid attendance base...ie, some people come to some games etc. It's a huge amount of organisation to get people to pay for half season tickets for example, and then buy a whole ticket and then share it around. The club needs to assign areas for groups, so that people who come sporadically can buy a ticket through Ticketek in that area as needed. Obviously the club could apply a time limit, so that if it's not purchased by 1 week before the game it goes to the general public. Plus provide exemptions to the security rules regarding flags and banners in those specific areas. ie, show your ticket is in section X and you can get oversized flags/banners through. BTW, I used to be hugely into big flags. I inspired the big ones that the BHQ crew use (and my ex-missus made them). Now the idea of having to get a big flag out after a try annoys me. Hehe, glad I don't have to worry about it anymore :P
