Looking at your arguments one by one, and taking into account that you have a different view of Milford than I do. 1. I disagree with your assertion Milford is being picked on the basis of what he did 4 or more years ago. My view is that in general, we have always looked a better side with him in the halves than without him. As well, his form can't be simply abstracted from the context, that being, most of the team has played seriously sub-standard footie over the last 2 years, and form in general has declined progressively since Hunt left and was never replaced by a decent half, as well as the fall out from the Bennett fiasco and the Seibold catastrophe which has clearly impacted Milford as well as every other player in the squad. About his experience in the terms you put - that he can't close out a game on his own, to me says more about the team, the coaching and the club (and your view of Milford) than him. Is he supposed to win games on his own? I would suggest that if you had put any top 5/8 into our side over the last 2 years, there would be minimal if any difference to our results. A chief playmaker has to have team structures, shapes and more simply, support players in some coherent planned formations to have any real effect. We have had, IMO pretty much zero of that, over the last 4 years and our results show that. So, let's just pass it to [S]Fifita[/S] Milford 2. As for your 2nd point, who knows what Croft, Dearden or Gamble might have achieved if they had 4 years to establish themselves. But more to the point, establish themselves in what? The dog's breakfast of our side? Again, in the context of our recent team's history as I described above, I doubt any one player could make a BIG difference, including CS9. They'd be shags on rocks. Compared to Croft et al, they are relatively inexperienced kids, while Milford at least has the runs on the board. I also once again suggest that we have looked a much better team with Milford in the halves than without him. 3. Whatever the positives or negatives of the club keeping Milford, the fact is we have kept him, and he is our marquee player. He either succeeds or fails BUT at least he has a better chance of success on the assumption Walters will improve this side in every single area we have sucked over the last 2 years which, simply, is every area of the game. Bottom line is he is here, he has credentials, this is his last chance to show them, as I suspect might be the case for a few others as well
