[QUOTE="Sproj, post: 2967692, member: 8423"] I feel you've really nailed it with this post, well done. I think most (and i could be wrong) would agree that there are some seemingly serious issues with the team at present and some (perhaps many) of them revolved around recruitment and retention. Of course, injuries are playing a major part in this regard, that should certainly not be forgotten. So the questions still revolve around who is making these decisions about recruitment and retention and what is causing the seeming lack of leadership and cohesion in the side? A lot of (the) Buck stops with Bennett but it certainly wouldn't only be him responsible. If this pushing him out is coming from a personal agenda from White or Morris (whoever this guy thinks he is), then one or both of them should go first. This club should always be bigger than any one or two people's agenda/s. That though, should also apply to Bennett if he is the one causing this de-stabilisation (if in fact it is even a thing). No one can legitimately deny this current team is as good as 2015 but no one can also deny that this is to be expected given the retirements of some legends in Hodges and Parker and the dramatic decline in other top players in Boyd and Thaiday. It is really hard to drop those two guys anyway given they are the last remaining Bronco premiership players at the club (not including Bird as he was a Shark when he won it). What can certainly be argued (and I could say successfully) is that this club is well stocked for the future and a lot of that will come down to recruitment and retention as well, credit where it is due. Fast forward to 2020, guys like Su'A, Fifita, Haas, Isaako, TPJ and Joffa will be the blokes this side is built around and it would be fair to say that if Bennett was given that one last one year extension, he would have the cattle to genuinely be judged on (he doesn't really this year due to said injuries). That said, if the club LEGITIMATELY feels he has aggrieved them in some way or has ACTUALLY 'lost the dressing room', then this path is understandable. However, it would be hard to argue the latter point with a straight face, so the former point is of vital importance here. While it is easy to see where the argument of Bennett being past it comes from (and I do personally agree to a point), the fact still remains, he is the best coach ever and if not for his age, most would probably not even be thinking about moving on.
