Like the analysis overall but disagree on a few points. I find it mind boggling that everyone seems ok to pay Milf a mill a year give or take to LEARN to become a halfback. Only his kicking game is paying off after 4 years !!!! I remember when he could single handedly tear apart a teams middle but instead he now slows down waiting for support when he does occasionally make a break. For me KNik was showing good signs as a running 5/8 but defence is huge issue even for a young half. Isaako don’t get the the rookie of the year talk. Maybe for Broncs but even then think better options like Fifita and definitely not for NRL. Guy has potential but can someone FFS teach him how to defend on the wing. Doubt he has the skills of a top level modern fullback. Might be wrong but strikes me as a slightly better Hoffman type who kicks. Roberts. Once again FFS you have a guy with more speed than Oxford st and don’t go to his side. This isn’t a case of being used selectively as a tactic more like putting your Ferrari in the garage and only taking it out to Church on Sundays. Yeah you don’t take it out in peak hour traffic but every weekend you fang it around the countryside in between picking up surely? Guy should be on 20+ tries a season. Can’t agree more re Staggs and Bird. McGuire and Macca agree. Glenn for me is slowing down every year. Prefer his experience on the bench or free up his salary. But doesn’t have the speed anymore to cover centre, maybe I’m guilty of underrating him too but am not convinced he is the key. For me Gillett recovering physically and mentally and then being used correctly as more than another tackling machine is the key to our forwards. He can bodyguard, he can offload, he can run a line and lead by example just not for 80 minutes. Maybe 60. Might even be the captaincy choice if he comes good but would be a risk without seeing a month or two of footy.
