No mate, it might mean that any commission that Orr has ripped from him will have to be paid back but it would not invalidate the contract between the Broncos and Haas (in my view). As stated above, as a party that would be impacted by that occurring, the Broncos would have to be brought into the action and be given a right to be legally represented. As long as there has been no conduct by the Broncos like engaging with the agent to do something under the table, or a misrepresentation by the Club that Haas relied upon. a dispute between an agent and a player will not invalidate a contract between the club and the player. The only scenario where that might eventuate is where the agent is authorised to sign the contract on behalf of the player and there is no indication that this occurred with Haas. Someone provided the useful analogy of a house sale and a real estate agent. The home owners signs an agreement with the agent to sell the house. The agent markets the house, secures a buyer and a contract is signed between the home owner and the purchaser. The contract settles and the ownership changes on the title. If thre home owner subsequently discovers the agent has done something dodgy, overcharged on commission, got a secret commission etc, as long as the purchaser is not involved, the home owner's legal recourse is against the agent under the agency agreement. They are not entitled to try and rescind the sale contract with the purchaser and regain ownership of the house.
