Re: Willie Tonga talks of quitting Cowboys and Joining Bronc So this is different to Greg Inglis....how? Tonga still has another 3 years (at least) left in the NRL. He's experienced and he's still in good form. I'd take him any day. Provided that we don't pay overs for him though.[/quote:kd8k6yft] Are you joking? Inglis is 23 as opposed to 27 and doesn't have a history of knee injuries like Tonga does. Where as Tonga would be a good short term option, Inglis would've been a GREAT short term option with potential to be an EXCELLENT long term option.[/quote:kd8k6yft] I wasn't making a comparison to Tonga from Inglis silly. I was saying how is it any different considering Inglis isn't a long term option either. If you think Inglis was seriously going to be here for more than 2-3 years then you're kidding yourself. And what makes you think Inglis would be any better than Tonga in the short term? Inglis wouldn't even be in the top 6 or 7 centres in the game last year, he was average at best for his club. He wasn't that much better the year before either. There's every chance that Inglis could have been the fat, lazy and non-effective player like he was in 2010.[/quote:kd8k6yft] The way things were going before the Rabbits came in it looked very likely Greg was going to stay with the Broncos, that was until he had his Brittany moment I guess... Fair points but I believe a change of scenary would've done him a world of good not to mention Inglis would actually get some quality ball instead of having to compete with nuff nuff Hoffman for it. Even then it wasn't like Greg was bad in 2010, in fact I think his 2010 was pretty underated. if you watched a lot of the Storm's line breaks would start from a good Inglis run that would attract a bucket load of defenders.
