[QUOTE="Big Pete, post: 2726168, member: 1899"] Wigan/Catalans aka the cure for insomnia is not the type of match I'll ever find myself sitting through again but I'm interested to see what Wigan will take out of it. Between the two teams, Wigan were more adept in the conditions. There was nothing pretty about their play, but their ability to roll up their sleeves, fish for penalties and work until the final minute was quite positive. It appears their biggest strength is their backrow of Farrell, Bateman and O'Loughlin. All of them relish in the physical contest and are relentless carting the ball up. In particular, John Bateman hits the ball up with plenty of gusto and is capable of running plenty of different lines. They're complimented by the addition of Ben Flower who was suspended the last time these two teams played. You may remember him from the cowardly punch on Lance Hohaia. When he was on the field for the Warriors, I thought he added plenty of steel to their defence and did a better job of controlling the ruck. As ever, the Broncos big men are going to have to step up if the boys are going to get the win. If they can, I believe the Broncos will have too many points in them, even without Ben Hunt. The Warriors halves, while not without their skills struggled to control the situation and would often let the forwards down with poor options or inept play. Matty Smith is in the Adam Reynolds mould where he's got a really handy kicking game, but his actual playmaking skills lack the ingenuity that distinguish the best players from merely the good. Five-Eighth George Williams is still very raw and he struggles to come up with the right plays, taking unnecessary risks or simply playing the link-man for somebody else to mess up. I was concerned that Sam Tomkins maybe back for this side. Like with the Auckland based Warriors, Tomkins would provide Wigan with an extra dimension. However, apparently the dynamo fullback isn't expected back until Easter, putting them on an even keel somewhat. I'm gearing up for the Wigan/Huddersfield clash from Round 2 of the 2016 season.
