Second Brisbane NRL Bid

How completely unoriginal. And that logo looks like something you'd see on a 1950's cereal box. There's nothing even remotely unique that ties Brisbane and Bombers.

Even the logos look like they were designed from the same template. Both have a wide triangular shape with a downward pointing apex, both designs are generally symetrical with wings of some sort on either side, with the team name written on top. The Brisbane Potholes would have been a more inspiring choice.

They both have a S, N & E in their first names. :jawdrop:

IMO: They look nothing alike.

Brisbane Bombers sounds pretty lame to me :grr:

Agree. Pretty poor name. Seems like they just went through a list of B names until they came up with something they liked. Pathetic really.

Though LOL if Essendon is really considering talking to their lawyers. Different sport, complete brand differentiation. Otherwise why wouldn't Richmond and Wests have issues with eachother? NSW And Carlton? West Coast and Manly. Australia and North Melbourne. Footscray and Canterbury.

Ironically the Bears from both sides are dead and buried :P

Apparently there's no issues because they're all long standing brands. I guess you could argue about Wests, but the link is with the history of Balmain.

Bombers is a terrible name though. Out of all the options on the shortlist, I thought Kookaburras was the best - something unique (apart from the hockey side..) and identifiable with Queensland.

Who are the ignorant, over confident, arrogant f***wits that have made this happen? Rugby League isn't anywhere near strong enough for this kind of over saturation of sport in one area.

I like the name and the logo, but I hope this doesn't come to be. There isn't enough room in Brisbane for another franchise.

Their market research indicates that 30% of League supporters in Brisbane follow the Broncos, therefore giving them plenty of market share.

It wasn't Ross Garnaut that did the research was it?

A second team in Brisbane would be a big no no.

We already have two teams within an hour or so of each-other. We don't need another Sydney style saturated RL market in another area.

Sydney people are hoping another side comes in to stop the "monopoly" we have. I have no idea how it would affect anything, personally I am indifferent.

Makes sense can't have 3 teams in SEQ but Sydney can have 10 teams.

I hope this fails like NSWales. If you really need to have another team in SEQLD, at least make it Ipswich or something. Calling the new team Brisbane is just stupid as well. We need to do all we can to get them to fail!

Why? I don't mind the competition, it's another team I'll love to hate!

Yeah, Central Coast need a team, they are what 1 hour out of Sydney.... Madness absolute madness. QLD needs another side don't care where it is but it has to happen.
