THE Broncos have continued their recruitment and retention drive with rookie utility Jake Granville shunning interest from the Cowboys to remain at Red Hill.
On a day when Brisbane announced the prize signing of Ben Barba, Granville has secured his own future by inking a one-year deal with the Broncos.
The 24-year-old may lack the profile and panache of Barba but like the reigning Dally M Medallist, Granville has a golden opportunity at the Broncos in 2014.

Granville Re-signs With Broncos - Brisbane Broncos

Busy week for Gee. Good news. I'd love this bloke to have a bench spot to come on for Macca, until it's realised that Macca needs to play 80, or go.

Honestly, I haven't seen much of Granville but I heard he goes alright. I do have my doubts about a palyer's ability when they haven't cracked first grade by age 24 though.

He did crack first grade and showed a lot of promise when he was given a shot. But griffins head is too far up maccas arse

He seemed to show Macca up a lot. Confidence beyond belief for a bloke who was making debut.

Yeah posted this last night but definitely great news, I just hope the club repays the faith there should be no excuse now for him not to be on the bench next year.

Yeah mate you're not wrong. His grubber kick down the blind side on the 5th play (ending up in a try) showed that. I really hope he gets a crack in the trials next year

Sounds very promising then. I'd love to see an actual hooker playing bench hooker, and I very much welcome someone to come and put a bit of pressure on Maccas starting spot.

If we get DCE and Milford, he'll be fighting it out with Hunt for the #14 jersey.

Like anybody who saw Granville play his first game in the seniors I was impressed and thought it was so good an effort I expected to see him in every coming game until he played himself out of the side. To my astonishment he got from memory about 6/7 minutes on a wet night the next week then nothing. Not sighted again even when it was blindingly obvious we needed a spark which he absolutely provided in his debut. I also liked his efforts in defence with a good tackling technique and a keenness to make consecutive tackles. I don't give a toss if someone's 30 before debut.

Lol! Broncos ahead by 20, 20 minutes to go. Comes on fresh after the hard yards have been done. Really "showed him up a lot".

I watched some highlight videos of him on line. He has a bit of pace but I was more impressed by his mean tackle technique.

What i really liked about him from his debut game, was his quick service out of dummy half. it is the main area that Macca really lets us down IMO.

Why does the result of the game matter? The fact is, he came on, played like we all wish Macca would play. I don't see Macca setting the world on fire when he runs on to start a match.

Macca and Granville are very different players. The notion that Macca has to play 80 minutes or go is stupid. How many other NRL sides have bench hookers again?

I don't give a **** about other teams, I care about mine.

Well you've clearly got no clue. Having 4 forwards on the bench holds no value to our side. Better off giving Macca a breather and giving Granville a chance to make an impact when the forwards are tired. It isn't that hard to comprehend really
