Jordan Kahu

I don't think Hodges is a spent force. I still believe he's still one of the best centres in the game, and oozes a certain type of class which other players don't seem to have. He just looks likely every time he touches the ball, and its amazing how often he comes up with a miraculous play, more often than not, out of thin air.

He has lost some pace, but he just has to remodel his game. Obviously there a certain things he can no longer do as well as he could when he was younger, but he has other strengths that have developed over his career, which can make him just as much dangerous and effective. He is still a great asset to our team, and just has to play to his strengths, while picking the right moments.

I'll have both. I agree Hodges still gives the side something special. So, if Hodges gets injured (always likely) Kahu takes over, and when Hodges calls it a day. I think Kahu is a class player still finding his real form and is comfortable at FB, centre or wing and possibly in the halves if needed. He can kick goals. He's a real asset to the side. He's a keeper for mine and as much as I am a great Copley fan, I'd take Kahu over Copley (or Reed) if it came to that.

I'd have to agree with you on Kahu over Copley, quality centre when in form and on the field, but Kahu offers more and can only get better, Copley will struggle to get back into the side but it's not because Bennett doesn't rate him, it's because of the competition, Reed is back in form, Hodges won't be displaced, and the wing is highly contested and to be frank I don't think his anywhere near as effective out on the wing.

As for Hodges, I can see Kahu being his replacement in the centres when he retires, his shown his willingness to use his outside man which a quality centre must display, Hodges still has something to offer, for how long is up for debate, how we finish the season could have a big bearing on that too.

Well what do you know ... there was a thread about our Jordie, and it seems still to be very relevant: Kahu or Reed?

Now where were we. Is Inglis coming to the Broncos Retirement Village or not?
