I was only contemplating the reasoning behind signing a player for three years. It just didn't make sense that the Broncos would do such a thing with the intention of having that player as a back up option. I don't think that the Broncos have any real way of preventing Nickorima leaving especially if he gets an offer to play from one of the absolute best coaches.

But that would be the way a professional organisation would do it, so that rules out the NRL.

This potential signing is definitely a head scratcher. If we want a backup half, we've already got Darren Nicholls. Walker would of been a good signing a few years ago, when it seemed like we had no halves at all.

What makes you say Nicholls isn't NRL ready?

Cody Walker was in a similar position up until this year. South took a gamble, and he's played pretty well so far. Walker's 27, so he's definitely a late bloomer, but had he not been given an opportunity in first grade, you'd probably be saying the same thing about him too.

Walker signs with Souths, 3 year deal. Souths increased their original offer. So yeah, we could have just been a bargaining tool, but at least it means another club spends more of its cap.
