PRE-GAME Round 25 - Broncos vs Sea Eagles

I had read the article before I read your post. Yes, the very same article and I read the part that got you wound up my initial thought was the same as yours. That said I realized that selective quoting and omission can completely change the direction or intent of the person quoted. I don't think that Gallen was referring to the Broncos rather it was as I said, the hypothetical scenario to which he was responding.

It's hard to believe you and others think Gallen doesn't know that the Broncos play semi final football virtually every year, that they are hugely successful as a team and are without doubt one of the most successful teams in every department with the greatest coach of all time. Pretty sure Gallen knows all that so it begs the question if you think about it. Was he really referring to the Broncos or just musing that playing for a team at the top is not as important to Bird as getting to play where he wants ?

If Gallen is so clued up on the Broncos, surely he would see that Bird is able to both play for a successful club that almost always makes the finals, and get his hand on the ball more often? By Gallen's own reasoning, Bird would be a fool to return to the Sharks, seeing as Bird gets to have his cake and eat it too at the Broncos.

Jesus, how many times? Stop and just consider what I've written. Think about this for just a moment or two...what if Gallen is not referring to the Broncos. Just think it through and imagine his selectively placed comments in that light, just for a moment. Would his comments then make more sense? If he was speaking hypothetically about the notion that Bird would choose his desired position(for whoever) over playing semi final football. Try it for a few moments.

Or maybe you could stop and consider it from a position where you aren't emotionally invested in the Sharks?

and why would Gallen be referring to any team other then the Broncos (especially since he specifically mentions them, and talks about how Bird never played 5/8 for us) ...

you are the one who is "inventing" things to try and defend Gallen and your beloved Sharks

Given we finally broke the course of winning when we are favourites two weeks ago and backed it up with a confident show against the Roosters, I suspect we will have too much for Manly and it will show on the scoreline.

Not really you've got that right. I didn't see anything live but from the quote that's not what he said or rather you've misinterpreted it.
I'm really starting to think this friend of yours that supports the Sharks doesn't actually exist. It's you, isn't it?

Thought they would start Glenn at hooker, but good chance for Turpin to impress as a starter(Assuming he stays there).

I think it is entirely possible that Bennett will make a "late" change and start Glenn or Moose at hooker

Honestly didn't see that coming, still think he should just sit out the remainder of the season and work hard during the offseason for the best possible start to 2019.

Having him at centre instead of Kahu would drastically improve our defence and therefore our title odds. If he's physically right, get him in there: he'll be up for it mentally.

If he was fit and injury free sure but that hasn't been the case going into the off-season or even during the season for the limited time he actually was on the field, even then he was far off the pace and at the business end of the season that isn't acceptable, you can't afford to carry them and given the circumstances I'd still take Kahu over Bird. Next season, whole different ball game.

I really hope bird is 100% and as fit as possible. Otherwise why even bother. His being in and then out last time was terribly disruptive.
On the other hand, if he is, then starting him from the bench would be a huge boost.

Every time I watch the ins and outs video, I keep waiting to hear Yow Yeh yell out "**** yeah!" at the end.

He did that in one of the videos and it was uploaded to the site. They took it down pretty quick, though.

I really hope we just let Bird sit out this year now. Can't see it's worth the risk. When he is fully fit I think everyone is forgetting what a good player he actually is. All we have seen is the injured version.
