Its interesting that a penalty try means they don't go to sin bin, but a possible 8 point they can still be binned.

Kinda like double jeopardy in round ball football.

It's still foul play ... so the sin binning is for that. Otherwise a player could come flying in with knees and elbows when a star player scores and only concede a possible extra 2 points.

Oh yeah, I get that part, but what if Dearden drops the ball over the line due to high contact and they give a penalty try? Then he wouldn't be binned as a penalty try was given?
