So much for the Sunday afternoon 1993 Grand Final commemoration match. The sooner we don't have the television networks picking the timeslots the better we'll all be.
 
Where's that bloke that started the petition about Locky's last home game? Need him again for the round 5 clash. Piss off channel 9.
 
Is anyone surprised? Maybe I'll just cancel my Foxtel subscription now.....
 
I whinged on Facebook and Twitter about the Friday night games. Got the response from the Broncos that "it's not our decision" :rolleyes:
No ####, that's why I said I can't wait until the NRL either finds the balls to stand up to Channel 9 or ditches them altogether.
 
Finally a game in Newcastle where the weather won't be freezing cold/pissing down rain/thunderstorm/windy.

Well, hopefully.

The main reason that game was changed was because Locky agreed to media commitments.
 
Yep, it's just great especially to our Sydney contingent who are just as passionate as the Queensland supporters are.

Just for the point of discussion, how would have you guys scheduled our first five games?

Eels/Broncos - Saturday (Titans/Cowboys the Qld derby opener)
Broncos/Cowboys - Friday
Knights/Broncos - Sunday
Rabbitohs/Broncos - Saturday
Broncos/Dragons - Sunday

The scheduling of the last game in particular does my head in. The game is being marketed as a '92 replay which was played on a Sunday afternoon...so they decide it's perfect for a Friday night - Oh WTF.

So he agreed to media committments on a Friday night when it was still a possibility that the game could've been played on Friday night? I find that hard to believe. You'll have to elaborate.
 
So...I don't have Foxtel and am totally happy about all the Friday night games.

Although I have a plan should the Broncos start getting Saturday, Monday and non-9 Sunday games.
 
Looks like round 1 game won't be live into Brisbane. Pretty stupid..

Sort of. Foxtel on Xbox. Only costs $20 a month and no contract, and has an NRL channel. Hearing chatter that they'll be showing Fox Sports games live next season.
 
Ah, that would have a lot of fans if true. Shame I don't have an xbox, but then I can't see anything changing with ch 9's love affair with the Broncos. Not this year at least.

Only if Parramatta, St George, Canterbury, Manly and West Tigers all have good seasons they'll start getting even more friday nighters than usual, and relegate Broncos away games to other days.
 
Assuming they're still doing the whole "must show at least 1 Qld team on Friday night" thing, I think we'll get pretty good numbers. I would think the Broncos still rate way higher than the Titans and the Cowboys, even if they're not going so well.

Definitely, but they may start to think an in form Dragons vs Manly or Parramatta vs Bulldogs would rate higher than Broncos vs Cronulla, Cowboys vs Warriors or Titans vs anyone in QLD and show the QLD game on delay. And thus Broncos vs Cronulla might rate better for them on Sunday, or they might let Foxtel show it.
