Bare with me, because I believe this is likely for more reasons than just both the Broncos and the Cowboys are currently top 4 teams.

Our resurgance as a danger club under Bennett has propelled us to be at the same place as the Cows: a dynamic team of young and old players with plenty of quality depth coming off the conveyor belt. Ben Hunt is looking more and more like the next superstar half as time goes on (fix that fucking kicking game), we all know what Milford is going to be in 5 years and 2/3rds of our current backline are current or future representative players, along with a couple of forwards.

The Cowboys have already got their superstar half in JT, who is playing the best footy of his career. Michael Morgan has only recently come into the halves, after the return of Lachlan Coote, who has proven that he is a quality fullback when his body isn't made of tempered glass, which has resulted in a pretty decent start in the halves for Morgan who is proving a much better option to Lui.

So both will keep on winning games, if their form remains true to the current course, so unless the NRL shits its pants and does its very best to separate the two clubs chances of making the Granny, the dream of every NRL fan north of the border will finally come true: The Grand Final will be an all Queensland affair in the dead centre of NSW and their fans will just have to eat it.

Oh what fun it would be.

I dare say the next 2-3 years is the last window for this to happen as JT will be retired soon.

I would also be surprised if one of Melbourne or the Roosters aren't in the decider.

Cowboys won't be there imo, as Ari mentioned as well.. Their window is closing, if they don't win it in the next 2yrs they won't be there for awhile after.

I dunno, but I must think differently to most people here. I don't buy into the qld v nsw stuff in the NRL, I save that for origin time. I actually despise the other Qld teams, and their attitudes and little brother syndrome that they have towards the Broncs. I hate the fact that they gloat so much when they jag a win, or if they sit higher on the ladder than us. For me its a club comp, and these f#$s like nothing better than beating us, so I say f em, and hope they share the spoon. Also feel that it borders on hypocritical when we bag NSW for being so insular, yet we still treat our club footy as qld v nsw. Like someone else alluded to, I don't really care who we beat in the GF.

I'm pretty aligned with this too...I hope they lose every week ,the Tits and Cows that is. I don't agree with it not being Qld vs nsw in the NRL , most especially around the judiciary ...the only team after the Broncos is the Sharkies, my first team in the NRL ( NSWRL)

Teams and in NSW and NSW/Sydney based fans have bigger rivalries with other Sydney clubs then any of the interstate teams or Warriors, the Grand Final won't have any less support in Sydney and NSW if it was an all QLD affair. Nobody in NSW cares about what state the Cowboys, Titans and Broncos play in, there is plenty of born and bred NSW people that cheer for those clubs.

I'm just saying.

I want it to happen for no other reason than the butt hurt it would create in NSW. I would also accept a Warriors V Broncos GF.

True and maybe attitudes have changed for the most part, but there would still be amazing glorious butt hurt. Every year that it's an "all Sydney" grand final, it gets mentioned.

I wanna see the Cowboys and Titans as the only clubs without a premiership.

But wouldn't it be all the more sweet if they made a GF, but lost to us ...

Keeps them without a premiership ... Adds some more silverware to our trophy cabinet ... Sends a big **** you to the N(SW)RL

That is win, win, win

I imagine after all the crying from their supporters the last few years, we'd get screwed over by the NSWRL in an attempt to make up for it.

Yes it does, but I really don't get why

I mean I know why in the sense that it's all NSW bias and all that, but commentators and journos are supposed to be professional

This is the NATIONAL rugby league; how can it be talked up as a positive when the GF is 2 Sydney teams?

It just makes no sense at all

TBH, I understood when it first happened in 2010 because there hadn't been an all Sydney GF since 04. Didn't understand it last year though.

It will never happen. The NRL is still Sydneycentric and decisions are still made the same way as when Manly ran the competition. Arthurson and Quaile ran the comp to suit themselves and to suit Manly and to this day the competition is run by Sydney to suit Sydney. Just like the New York Yacht Club they will rort and influence to ensure that the GF will always be played in Sydney. If it looks like the Broncos and Cows/Tits will make the gf they will simply instruct the refs to ensure that doesn't happen. I don't buy into conspiracy theories,in fact I hate those who keep them going, but it's a real deal in Sydney.

No one in NSW would be butt hurt about it at all apart from Slothfield and the media. If you think the NSW public would be butt hurt over it you would be disappointed.

Yes the Sydney media talk about how great an all Sydney final would be but the QLD go on about how awesome an all QLD final would be. It works both ways.

Finally wouldn't the NRL prefer a Queensland team in the GF to keep interest and ratings here to a maximum?
