Brisbane Broncos 2015 Predictions

Hunt's running game didn't work against the top tier teams this year. I said a while ago he may be in for a tough season in 2015 as you don't come within a breath of winning the Dally M without attracting the attention of all other coaches. The hunter has become the hunted, so to speak. I hope he kicks on.

Regarding Milford, most of us on here are already convinced he'll be awesome. The reality is he's got more of a chance of under-performing than Waddell, Blair or any of the guys that are used as punching bags on here. I've said it before but playing for the Broncos is not like playing for other clubs. Having Bennett back will be a godsend.

Put another way, I'll know we're in trouble if I log in to the Live Game or Post-Match threads and read things like Milford had some "nice touches" or "showed what he's capable of" etc, etc.

I look at it the other way. Hunt was basically the only go-to man for the Broncs last year and so was relatively easy to target. Opposition teams this year will have to worry about the Milf as well so things may open up a bit for him (Hunt).

Top tryscorer: Copley - playing wing, fed by Hodges and Milford and eventually Boyd.

Rookie: Kodi Nikorima - if Bennett takes the punt. Otherwise, I can't actually see any bolters getting time other than guest appearances during Origin time.

Who will we sign?: Papalli. Off contract in 2016. My lock of the week for following Milford back to Brisbane.

Who will we lose?: One of Glenn, Oates or Thaiday, especially if we sign Papalli.

Captain: Parker, grooming Hunt for post-retirement

Best forward: McGuire - guys a gun. He's top dog now in prop stakes, will play 65 mins+ and has a huge axe to grind over the Klemmer/rep team snub.

Best back: Hunt

Biggest Suprise: Happy suprise: Oates. Breakout year coming wide running off Milford. Not so happ suprise: Milford. By the time 5 March rolls around expectation is going to be enourmous on his shoulders. I can see him taking a while to get in his groove and an injury here or there or a. I cannot think of two polar opposite environments: the week to week Friday night lights and pressure cooker environment of Brisbane and Suncorp versus Furner's fuddies rolling around the bottom of the table.

Scapegoat: Bennett. Unfortunately. But he'll deserve it because he's playing going all or nothing. He'll get the God Like kudos for a premiership though. Best buy: Bennett. If he pulls it off.

Best buy: Bennett. Unless he fails. Then Milford.

Second best buy: Boyd. If Bennett pulls it off. Otherwise 1,2,3,4 and the rest in this field will belong to Milford.

Who will be the worst? Adam Blair. As much as my childlike Broncos heart springs eternal hope, he's got bust written all over him. Would not be suprised if he's playing ISC by the second half of the season.

Who will make their rep debut? Ben Hunt. He's one injury away from the 14 jersey. He might even have a nose in front of DCE by May. Lillyman has McGuire's jersey locked down.

Who will be dropped from rep footy? Hopefully Hodges stands down, but he won't if QLD is short. So

Scapegoat: Thaiday, it'll only last a gfew rounds tho as after the first month the entire team will come together.
Best Buy: Tight one between Blair and Milford, we won't regret either.
Worst:
Rep Debut: Copely, after Hodges goes down injured and ultimately retires from rep the QLD selectors will have no choice but to look at Copely.... He'll earn his spot.
Dropped from rep: While none will be 'dropped' Hodges, Thaiday and Parker will all retire from rep footy and declare their ambitions for back 2 back Bronco titles.
Forum member proven wrong: Myself, The team will click and Bennett will show me he still has it, back2back titles and I'll be admitting I was wrong.

I thought it was a laziness problem, what surprised me was to hear Bennett talking about how meticulous his preparation was, enough to make him want yo work with him. Makes me wonder, was it a Tigers thing?

I don't think it was a Tigers thing. He started going downhill before he joined the Tigers... It started when Storm had to offload players.

I have a very good friend who's a tigers man , I remember being pissed that Blair had signed with them , as he was a dominate playmaking forward. Time will tell, but who in the last few years has gone to the Tigers and impressed?

WORST BUY
Darius Boyd struggled with the Knights last season and it is be hard to see him winning many friends at the Broncos after being brought in by his mentor Wayne Bennett. A preseason achilles injury has sidelined Boyd for the majority of the season and while he will return in the back half of the year it is hard to see him hitting any great heights in 2015.

BEST BUY
Also a Bronco . . . Anthony Milford cost Brisbane plenty but he is worth every cent. The kid is a dead-set superstar — the fastest man in the game over the first 10 metres and he will set the Broncos’ attack alight. Money well spent.

Who Will Be The Broncos Best Player Next Season? Ben Hunt. I'm liking what I am hearing from him. He knows he needs to make a lot of improvements in his game and he will be working hard at it. He is a hard worker and one of the major reasons why he was so successful last year.

Top Try Scorer? Dale Copley. I can't see Milford being in a position to score a lot of tries.

Rookie? Matt Parcell.

Captain? Corey Parker.

Who Will They Sign? Dane Gagai. I hope they don't.

Who Will They Lose? Alex Glenn.

Who Will Be The Biggest Surprise? Mitch Garbutt. I think he will show a lot of people exactly what he is made of.

Who Will Be The Biggest Disappointment? Adam Blair. So much hype, but he hasn't been anywhere near his best for years. I can't see him turning it around next year.

Best Forward? Josh McGuire.

Best Back? Ben Hunt.

Who will be the biggest scapegoat on here? Wayne Bennett. Darius Boyd when he returns.

Who will be the best buy? Anthony Milford.

Who will be the worst? Travis Waddell.

Who will be dropped from rep footy? No one. Unless you count being out injured and not playing as being dropped, then Darius Boyd.

If Joffa played the whole year then he would of def been rookie. IMO Best Player was a 3 way tie between Hunt, Milf and Parker, but then again everyone was great as they all played their part whether we believe it or not

I bagged Blair earlier too. I was singing his praises by Round 2 though. Way out with Copley & Thaiday,
