If you had to choose Riki or Fifita to be Reynolds body guard in a game or a young half coming in like Ezra or someone to help the young forwards coming through who you picking?

I hate to go full stats as they don't tell the full story (and in an enforcers case, can't really be quantified properly), but there's a 2% difference in tackle efficiency between RIki and Fifita - both are in the 90's. Fifita is certainly big enough to learn how to rock people if he doesn't already (i don't recall him putting on many big shots), so I'm not sure there is much difference in terms of 'who do you want as a bodyguard'

I'd definitely want Fifita on the end of some short balls 5m's out though.
 
I'd have said Fifita was lazy at times last year, this year i dont think he has been. They just dont use him the way he needs to be used. They barely seem to go to his side. I'd take him back for the right deal. Wouldnt go near him for his current deal.
 
Let this be a lesson to all the youngsters tempted by big money to the titans, maybe ring Ash Taylor and Fifita before making your decision. Doesn't work out in the long run. If Fifita stayed put he would be a walk up start for the aussie side these days not to mention a marketing magnet in QLD.
 
Fifita will pocked just under 2m after tax over 3 years, he would have been an idiot to stay with us for 750k/y. He would have basically turned away 750k after tax over 3 years. NRL careers are short, just ask any of the guys who get injured and can't play again or get turfed as soon as their injury hurts their performance.

I'm not going to hold it against him, if he wanted to come at a good price (under 700k) I'd love for the club to make it work.

I floated the idea when there were rumours mid season last year of manly wanting to move him on but he’s been really terrible for a while now.

i think another year with an old head around would be handy i think he offers a bit more than ryan james
the cows were interested at one point but i think they might have had to spend a bit more on some players that have exceeded expectations this year.

Perfectly put, 100% spot on. Some of the childish carry on about Fifita on this site is just weird.

Yep, very specific wording. The reality is, if we could Fifita for 500k or under (and I am not saying this is even possible), there is no way the club wouldn't entertain the idea.
 
I don’t think a backrower should ever be paid more than 500k. They should always be the role player - defend well, run lines and protect your half.
 
Broncs should offer Matt Lodge a minimum contract for the rest of this year.
