Do you believe Gamble is a bigger liability than Tesi?

If yes, would you prefer Tesi return at fullback or Mam get a shot at 6?

I believe Tesi can improve .
I think Gamble has reached his plateau. He`s now 25 will be 26 next month . Aint gonna get better .

Would like to see Ezra on the bench 1st .

Ezra would be a waste on the bench. For the 20 minutes he would get in the game, far better to keep giving him full games in Reserve Grade.

TMM at fullback works for the team, as he plays as an extra 5/8 anyway. I think they will wait until after SOO then bring Ezra in.

Although TMM, Reynolds, Ezra and Billy/Paix is not the worlds best combination, it will allow Ezra to make his way into the team without too much pressure.

A future where Mozer takes over the Hooking role, with his superior distribution, and a couple of extra years with Mamm and TMM (or alternative) does give the spine some attacking spark. Only thing the young guys will need is to be solid in defence.

If Grey is the replacement for Reynolds then this group can grow together. Hopefully Reynolds stays as assistant coach to keep them growing

Future is looking brighter

I don’t disagree but IMO Tesi needs to do that in q cup and not first grade. Gamble is barely first grade standard either but I think we have been an obviously better team, especially defensively, without Tesi.

Co incidence ?
TC Robati is waaay more of a tackling liabilty than Tesi . But folks don`t notice him getting stepped . I don`t know why ?

Robati and Gamble together it`s gonna get leaky on their side . Is my prediction .

Yeah I’m nervous as about Robati playing on that edge. His defence has been dodgey as but a depth bench forward isn’t as vital a position as fullback. It’s also why no one is arguing that Robati should start outside of injury. The guy averages like 12 minutes a game if picked at all.

I don’t see the relevance

by all accounts Mam is playing at an average level in reserve grade. That means he would be below average in first grade.

let him develop in the lower levels until he is dominating and demanding selection. No more selection on potential or because they're 'the next big thing'... make them deserve selection by performing in reserve grade and proving they're ready.

Bringing him in any earlier wouldn't benefit the team or the player, only satisfy impatient fans.

We wonder why so many players are entitled and lazy... giving them a free pass into the top level without making them earn their stripes and complete their apprenticeship and produce results at the lower levels is a very quick way to disincentivise our younger players.

I think when TC plays Tesi will have to make more last ditch tackles .
Capewell plays = less breaks /fast play the balls and less pressure on Tesi .

By coincidence I mean TC has played more with Tesi . Than TMM has with TC .
More breaks and scrambles means more work for the FB .

Sorry, you’re accounting the difference in standard of general fullback ability between Niu and TMM on TC Robati?

My issues with Tesi aren’t his last ditch tackle attempts. It’s his fear of the highball, his bad positioning and inability to read attacking plays, his mostly poor pass timing, his inability to count players and direct his defenders to the correct side of the ruck, his inability to know when to drop out of the line when defending in the line, general lack of defensive urgency, his equally poor form in Q Cup. I really don’t know how any of that is Robati’s fault.

He may have potential, I haven’t seen any real sign of it but he is young so I’ll give him benefit of the doubt, but imo he is the most ill equipped player who has regularly been selected in the 17 and he needs to go back down a grade and work on his game.

Why are you talking about TC and Tesi. It has no relevance or correlation. Firstly, TC is trending towards becoming a middle forward as seen by where he plays in cup. Secondly he will never be the starting second rower on a permanent basis, let alone any time soon. Capewell and Piakura are obviously the 2 who will occupy that role for a while and if Piakura takes his time to catch on, Riki is still miles better than Robati. This argument has 0 relevance to anything whatsoever. As for Tesi his issues are far greater than whether his Second rowers are making their tackles and slowing the play the ball down.

Kevvie spoke yesterday about TC, he said he hasn't been at the level he should, but he will suprise a lot of people against bunnies.

He really hasn't had too much opportunity this season yet

Yes , the disorganisation of the defence when TC plays adds much more pressure on the FB .
If he`s missing tackles and getting left on the ground . The count the numbers job gets waay more urgent .
I also don`t agree about his passing . He has several try assists . And can kick on the 5th .
He is also a tackle buster . Once he learns to use those tackle breaks more effectively he will be a weapon .

Because when he has played he has replaced the injured 2nd rowers .
And has been poor in defence .

I agree and while I haven't seen every round with Mam, the last one I saw, he definitely seemed to be starting to step up which is great to see.

Yeah I completely agree regarding Mam. I just think the same attitude should be showed toward Niu who is only 20 and obviously not ready for consistent first grade yet.

It looks like he will have the opportunity to do so. I do not attend training, nor do I have inside knowledge, but it appears that there is very little one on one coaching done to try and improve areas where players are deficient at our club. I really do not get why this is not done, eg Boyd working with the fullback options etc. If they are doing this, it is not working so maybe they need to change things up a bit.

The big difference in the Tesi v TMM debate is how the team has gone defensively.

For mine, it's not a decision. TMM has shown us what we were lacking. It's not physical prowess, his strength is between the ears.

His offence isn't quite as good, but the Broncos 2,3,4&5 are all runners. So having a link man suits our backline better than a runner

They should all be performing well in Qcup before they even get a shot at NRL unless we are in the midst of an injury crisis. Tesi has his moments, but if he ends up being our long term fullback we arent in good shape.

Martin could actually be that serviceable player we can use to let the likes of Mam develop.

I'll be very surprised if Tesi becomes even an average NRL fullback. He's all hype and no substance so far.
