Broncos V Sea Eagles (SPOILERS)

Why not try Marsh as an interim 5/8?

Marsh is pretty much useless anywhere besides hooker these days IMHO.

They could probably try
1. Hunt
6. Wallace
7. Ennis
9. Marsh

for a couple of rounds or so.

Did Watkins play? Didn't at all notice him.

Yeh he did, was wearing 19 and only played 19mins....so that is probably why! I thought it was Corey when I first spotted the 19 jersey [icon_lol1. [eusa_doh

I'm actually willing to put the loss down to an off day. Yes we were terrible in the second half, but I still saw enough in the first 30 minutes not to give up hope.

For mine we had too many players who had off days and the main ones were Wally and captain for the day Sammy T. Both seemed to be trying too hard for mine rather than running the team as they have been of late by driving the side around, today they tried to do it all themselves.

Agree with others re Kemp has finally earnt his spot, Robinson I thought it was "White Man Can't Jump". Moon is missing some east tackles out wide and we should let him go in 2009 for mine.

Clinton I'm afraid is past his best and I'm afraid WB may have signed us a dud, I was willing to give him a chance early but things aren't improving.

Yes we missed the experience today, but it was a real off day for mine.

As for you rbn, that is the biggest load of crap call ever made blaming Henjak. I actually thought you knew a little about the game but I guess not. Henjak was actually trainer today and WB in the end had the running of the team and changes etc.

We do it all again next week and that will be a real test as it's without the Origin players. Be interesting times ahead to see how we rebound as we will have pretty much a similar side with hopefully TC and Corey back, but probably Hunt and Thaiday missing, along with Hodges.

I agree with Russo. You take the following out of any side

1) World's best player and team's principal playmaker
2) World's best center and team's best individual attacker
3) Team's best defender
4) First, second and third choice captains

and put them up against quality opposition and see what happens.

p.s I had more for that list but I am le tired.

First: Lockyer
Second: Parker
Third: Hodges
FOURTH: Carroll

Prett sure Hodges is vc, he captained the side when locky was out and parker played.

How did Taylor go?

From the footage I've seen Manly carved on the fringes (between the 2nd rower and pivot) and dominated Robinson with the high ball. Can't win them all.

The crowd was 27,000 - something.

Yesterday was disapointing. Defence was poor and we looked tired and uninterested. Disapointing also that my kids got really bored half way through and wanted to go home [icon_frown . I would love them to be at a really exciting game. Crowd was very quiet and boring, even before the game started. But I suppose we just put it down to 'one of those days' that all teams get and hope that it doesn't become a regular thing.

But it was good to see Jeb again (even if just for a few brief minutes) and meet Kris and Rebz (and the little version of Chelle - sorry I forgot her name!) by chance icon_thumbs_u

I put it down to that fact that with such a young team (i believe the average age of yesterdays team was about 22) they are bound to have an off day every now and again.

i think the only 3 regular members of the team that are over about 25 are Lockyer, Marsh and Carroll. eusa_think

Meh.

Sure, it was a pretty woeful display... but we were missing several top players and I honestly believe that's our first real "off" day that we've had this year. Every team is bound to have a few and I'm sure the boys will fire up again in the coming weeks - I'm not going to get concerned at all until we put in a few performances like this one.

BTW, how great was Hunt? Tried his guts out all day & is clearly trying to get his SOO spot back!

This was the first game I got to go to this year and I thought the same thing. What happenned to the awesome crowd we used to get at ANZ?? [icon_thumbs_do I felt like a goose yelling out my support/anger at ref etc, cos everyone seemed so uptight.

How can the team perform under those crap conditions? Disappointing game, good first half though.

It's one of those things. Do you blame the Broncos for not giving anything to the crowd to cheer about, or do you blame the crowd for not showing their support for the Broncos?

Suncorp has, and I feel, always will be a crappy quiet stadium where people don't yell, scream or even clap.

The latter.

It's not crappy and quiet at Origin

Hells yeah! Selectors will go for Hunt's toughness over Slater's flamboyance.
