yeah if i turn on the tv on friday night to see he's d*cked around with the line up again i'll probably turn it off...

Henjak made a late switch against Parramatta, starting with utility Matt Gillett, but has decided to give 18 year-old Norman a crack at the job until Lockyer makes it back, if he does.

"We'll name Corey Norman at five-eighth (Tuesday) and he'll start there," said Henjak, happy enough with Gillett's cameo against the Eels.

"Gillo (Gillett) was very good but I think he probably enjoys that running game a bit more than having the responsibility of ball-playing which probably takes something away from his natural game.

"It's not that I haven't got confidence in Corey, he just hadn't been up for a while and Gillett had been doing such a good job, I thought it might be pretty physical early on against Parramatta.

"We'll go with Corey this week and give him his chance."

Sounds like he learnt his lesson.

Also, even if Corey doesn't play that well, at least it puts Gillett into a position of power. We truly missed his involvement on Friday.
 
Gillett running wide helps. And that's how he still should've been used even if played at five-eighth.

Definitely.

That was my biggest criticism of Henjak on Friday. We seemed to be playing as if Lockyer was there and you can't afford to do that, especially with a rookie five eigth and a backrow utility. We should've played tighter and focused on confusing the Eels in the ruck before exposing them out-wide. Unfortunately we didn't play with that game plan.

Henjak will have 7 days to fix that. He showed he's capable of learning from his mistakes in the past (Round 10 vs. Melbourne) hopefully he does the same here.

Karl deKroo described the Broncos' attacking play best...frantic. No direction. No game plan. No patience.
 
the team as a whole just needs to get gee'd up and play for each other. if they do that and limit stupid mistakes/penalties then we can win easily. carn fellas

I still think we need Sims or Setu on the bench, Dodds struggles to offer anything but a decent tackle every once and a while IMO. [icon_shru

Well, usually good for 20-30 tackles a game, but yes he's MIA in attack. A boy his size needs to be hitting it up regularly. That's his job.

I know he defends well but I don't think his role shoudld be just to tackle that is what a Lock and hooker are for. Our props have no punch whatsoever.

Don't be surprised if it happens ... Infact don't be surprised if the Broncos are a complete 180 from last friday night (when IMO they lacked energy and looked sluggish) ... there is usually always a marked difference in the performance of most NRL teams when they're coming off a loss (and a 14-30 type loss at HOME no less) than when they float into a fixture off a breezy 34-26 type victory ...

Its what keeps NRL tipsters tearing their hair out ....

It's why I'm nervous to tip Wests Tigers against Parra this week after their easy 43-18 win over lacklustre Penrith.

Couple of classic examples of easy wins one week, losses the next:

Souths beat Wests Tigers 50-10 one week...lost 26-24 to Warriors the next
Broncos beat Souths 50-22 one week...lost 22-12 to Penrith the next

And the opposite being true:

Roosters lost to Bulldogs 60-14 one week...beat Broncos 25-6 the next
Wests Tigers lost to Souths 50-10...beat Newcastle 23-6 the next

Mullen's been named to play despite having broken ribs. I'd be getting Ben Te'o to test him out. While on that, is rib cartilage a worse injury than broken ribs? Or is it more of an age thing as to why Mullen's fit to play and Lockyer's out?
 
I'd rather a broken rib than a rib cartilage injury, depending on the severity of the break of course.

Rib cartilage is just a prick of an injury which cannot be hidden by strapping or padding . It hurts with every movement, even just breathing but try sneezing or coughing, ouch. I have done it twice and twenty years later I still feel it especially playing cricket with the kids.
 
Is IH using Norman at 6 to start?

If he uses MG there I'm going to rage seriously...
