They shouldn't have kicked it to be closer than the 10 metre line for the tap though.

Really, didn't know that? Still that was a stupid penalty call in my opinion as the ref let the play run till Cowboys kicked it away. It was like Union advantage. But ya they needed to be in between 10 - 20 metres to get the set up for the field goal. I think they thought they could go back to the 10 anyways and just set up from there.

However great fight back. If this was earlier in the year and without Sandow, Luke, Baz, Asotasi and Wing we would not have won this game. Heads would have dropped and that would have been that.

I fully agree with you Rocky, based on the team performance in game 2 coupled with Webb's shite form in Origin over the last few years there is no way he should even get a look in.

There is many good players missing from the Cowboys not just Thurston.
Souths should have just walked away 50-0 with what the Cows had to put on the paddock and losing Webb during the game as well.Not to mention Bluey Southern I don't think was 100%fit for some of that game.
Souths had a strong side(for Souths ) on paper.

In saying all that Cows need a good boot up the bum for letting the lead of 20 just slip away and go to sleep thinking they had done enough.

In Origin 1, Webb made 4 hit-ups, as a starting front rower. That is absolutely pathetic at any level let alone Origin and especially in the front row. I also remember looking at the stats from Game 3, 2006 where he only made 9 tackles and 6 hit-ups. Pathetic!!!

Let's compare all 3 then - Webb, Hannant and Thaiday - based on their performances in Game 1. They were all there so it's the most fair comparison.

Webb - 13 tackles, 4 hit-ups.
Hannant - 18 tackles, 6 hit-ups.
Thaiday - 27 tackles, 8 hit-ups.

Webb has a much lower work rate then both of them and as a starting front rower that is unacceptable. Would you ever see those stats in Steve Price or Petero Civoniceva's game? NO. Webb is indeed a myth and one of the most over-rated players in the game.

I will walk from brisbane to sydney naked if Carl Webb has been averaging 60+ minutes.

He is one of the least fit players in the comp, he gives away penalty after penalty when he is fatigued.

He's a good impact player, but until he improves his work rate and mobility he will always be an overrated hack.
