They still have Brett Stewart, Taufua, Matai, Lyon, Hiku and Gutherson (if they still have him) in their backline. That is still a pretty good backline to have.
If Foran backflips on Parramatta they would have to go with Norman/Kelly in the halves you would think. I'll be stunned if they keep Sandow. I think we've seen enough of Sandow to say that he is already reached his peak and that he will never be the best.

Between DCE and Foran, that would be almost 2.5M per year on two players, with the NRL salary cap effectively about 7M, that leaves 4.5M for the other top 23, which is less than 200k each. Good luck holding together a good squad around that.
They have them now, they won't keep them if Manly suddenly hold onto Foran for 1m+.

If Foran is off contract the Titans should throw big cash at him. Sezer (who is quality) is leaving and DCE has back flipped and they are left with Elgy who i rate as a promising player and Mortimer who I don't rate. Foran is a top player with an impressive resume who can provide direction for them and would be a good mentor for Elgy to learn from.
If i was running the Titans I would be going hard for Foran.

Not only that he can walk whenever he likes ... but reportedly if he does decide to walk, he gets paid an obscene amount of money to boot.

From various tidbits in different articles, it sounds like "incompetent" is the most relevant word when it comes to the Eels. The sticking point seem to be some clauses that were "not previously sighted" by Eels management. It seems the Ex-CEO wasn't too interested in the fineprint. What those clauses were, we might find out, but if it's enough to be a dealbreaker than it's got to be big.

The Daily Telegraph has been told this was one of the fundamental reasons why the Parramatta board refused to rubberstamp a contract extension for CEO Seward, which led to the Eels official walking away from the club.
Seward was the Parramatta powerbroker who handled the majority of negotiations in relation to the Foran contract."

I'd be backing out of the deal if that's true, Foran shouldn't have to lose $150,000 a year over the next 4 seasons due to the lack of communication on the Eels board, take the $1m in damages and go sign for the Titans for $1m a season over 4 years, easy.

I'm confused, the NRL has a week 13 rule and this deal has been known to us for quite a while so it's to late for him to back out of the contract now?
It's starting to get very annoying players signing contracts and then changing their mind all the time. If Parramatta lose Foran they will be the biggest basket case club in the game, even bigger than the Sharks and Titans.

Foran is not trying to back out of the contract... Parramatta are trying to change the terms of the contract that Foran initially signed. this has nothing to do with the round 13 rule.
