Four high profile NRL player agents have been asked to explain why they shouldn't be banned over their alleged involvement in the Melbourne Storm salary cap scandal.

Agents David Riolo, George Mimis, Isaac Moses and Alan Gainey have been asked by the Rugby League Accredited Player Agent Scheme committee to show cause as to why their accreditation should not be suspended or cancelled.

Now that it's conclusive the agents had knowledge, it's beyond me that the players wouldn't have had, at the very least, an inkling.

Cameron Smith is absolutely guilty. He was acting as his own agent when he signed his 4 year contract. I wonder if he'll face the same repurcussions as Riolo et al.

+1

If these 4 go it will be very interesting times as to who will get their clients - amongst them they have most of the big names in the game

That report identified Gainey and Moses, who represents Storm captain Cameron Smith, as having signed two contracts for their respective clients. It also named Mimis, who represents Melbourne fullback Billy Slater, but noted that he did not sign a ''side'' letter. All have maintained their innocence.

I remember reading that Slater didn't sign the side letter, so he must have thought it was dodgy.

Doesn't the article clearly state that Smith is represented by Moses?

Smith negotiated his own deal in 2008, which is for 5 years.

We don't know if Smith knew or not, and we won't be making claims that he knew.

IMO: They all knew.

Maybe not Bellamy.

IMO you're kidding if you think Bellamy didn't know

I am trying to be nice for once & giving someone the benifit of doubt [icon_evillaugh

IMO it's more likely the players knew than Bellamy did. Honestly how would they not know if they were asked to sign 2 contracts?

Yeah but just going by how the players talk about Bellamy like a "second father" type relationship (very similar to how the Broncos of the past spoke about their relationship with Bennett). They would have talked to him in great detail about their contract etc; so just saying that IMO if you believe the players knew you have to believe that Bellamy also knew

Oh absolutely. I'm not doubting Bellamy knew, but it's also possible that they signed the 2 contracts and not told him about it. If Bellamy knew, I have no doubt the players did as well. No doubt at all.

If he didn't, how can he not have questions? Looking at his team, do the math.
