Pretty sure he isn't the only guy working in the NRL head office. I'm sure he has a lot of peopleto cover for him for 2 weeks.
 
And the season is nearly a month away. It's not like it's starting this weekend.
 
The guy is allowed to have a holiday - esp with all the shit some of the players and administrators put him through during the year. Poor guy - sucks to have illness or injury ruin your holiday.
 
Agreed with the others. He's the boss. he doesn't DO everything. Phone and internet is good.
 
Must really be chasing a good TV deal if he's going to the extent of skiing some foxtel guys
 
imo he should have taken the Holiday earlier not when the season is about to hit the ground running.
 
Can't see anything wrong with Donkey having a holiday now. Plenty of time before the season kicks off and if everything wasn't running smoothly at this point then he would be a piss poor manager. And it's not like he's managing the day to day stuff anyway.

Nothing that would require him to be here to put in 40 hours a week for the last 2 weeks.
 
On that note any recent news on the Independent commission seeing as they were saying it should(or they were aiming to) have it up before the season starts?
 
Please don't use the words "have it up" while referring to the rugby league offseason/preseason.

It only leads to scandal.

I don't think the IC will be up and running for this season. Some sections were saying it needed to be in place for this season; whilst others - mainly the QRL (and I agree with them) are saying that the process has been too rushed to have the proper IC structure in place for 2010 and we should be aiming for 2011. I'm not saying it won't be in place for this season, but with less than a month and the noises that have and are still coming from QRL in particular, IMO it looks doubtful.
 
Yeah, I think it's too important a decision to rush.
