Its more just a useless comment, still post updates for sure. just the "." you did was "bad" bumping.

A normal update post is still bumping but because it adds to the topic its fine.

Yeah and that's fine, but the not-so-subtle bumping etc is a bit much. If you wanted it to stay at the top of the list you could ask one of the admins to make it an announcement or a "sticky".
