I really don't see why there is so much hate for this guy. Hes a dickhead but people really fucking hate him.
It probably wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't on the TV every 5 minutes.
Plus when you knew everyone hated you, why would you keep putting your mug on the TV. Hire a sexy young girl to spruik your business, like what the TAB did with Jaimee Rogers, and that way you can sit back and collect you cash without peoples hate growing larger each time they see you.

He has gained a position of great influence through nothing except being born into a wealthy family. He used his familys power and money to waltz onto the screens during the broadcast of our beloved sport and shove his face into ours, acting like he's improving our experience and enjoyment of the game by telling us all about the latest odds offered by HIS betting company in case we feel like a punt. He has even paid his way onto the panel at half time and full time, the powers that be ignorantly assuming we want to hear his sentiments about the game.
Despite the annoyances of the vast majority of League fans, he still won't go away. He is so arrogant that he insists on sticking around even though he knows most people don't want to see him during broadcasts. This is a WORKING CLASS game, and here we have a spoiled rich boy who has had everything he's ever wanted handed to him on a silver platter (I don't give a rats how hard his mummy says he works) telling league fans to indirectly give him their hard earned cash.
I don't like gambling, but I don't stand in peoples way if they want to put a bet on. I used to tolerate the phone number and website for the TAB flashing on screen, I even tolerated Sterlo breifly mentioning it as well as the reminder not to go overboard and piss up your months pay in one go (but as long as you piss it away responsibly, it's all good). I refuse to tolerate someone buying their way onto our screens, disregarding the apparently unimportant objections of Rugby league fans and treating us like mugs. Tom Waterhouse is blatantly taking the piss out of our game and its supporters and needs to **** off.

But then hes putting money into the game. Can't have it both ways unfortunately. If you want 9 to show games live, then they are gonna put ads where they can.

I highly doubt it's through nothing other than being born in to a wealthy family. I have no doubt that was of great benefit to him, but I also have no doubt he's put in a lot of hard work to get to where he is today. He could have just sat on his arse and lived off the family fortune, but at least he's out giving things a go.
Don't get me wrong, I find the amount of exposure he currently has in the media to be excessive and annoying, but I also repsect the bloke for giving things his best shot, and I think a lot of the hate may be tall poopy syndrome.

Into the game? No he's not. He's putting it into Channel 9's pocket. What we had wasn't as intrusive is that smug looking wanker,

Maybe not directly, but indirectly he is. Advertisers willing to fork out the amount of cash he is are one of the reason why the NRL can sell the TV rights for such a high amount.
Unfortunately he seems to be expecting an awful lot for his advertising money though.

Do you really think Ch9 are that desperate for money that they needed to whore out our game like this?
Hyperbole on my behalf to say he has done nothing but inherit his wealth. That being said, I really don't think he would be where he is now without the status of his family. He hasn't taken a free ride, but it's been a lot more cruisy for him than the average bloke I'm guessing.

Yeah, for sure he's definitely got a much easier ride than the average bloke, and he probably wouldn't be where he is today without it, but he's still done well to build up a successful business on the back of that. Much better than just being the typical rich kid who lives off their families wealth imo, but I just wish he'd found some other way to do it than constantly be on our TV screens everytime we watch sport.
