Manly v. Parramatta Spoiler

on the plus note, but it looks as if i will have 6/6 so far this week in tipping

Looks like it might be a long year for Manly

what is with all the games this year!? one team dominates the first half, then the other team comes back and wins. has happened more often than not

I blame it on Kevin Rudd and Mrs Bligh.

Manly were absolutely robbed... I hate Manly and despise Parra... but Parra threw TWO forward passes in one of their tries. Honestly what is the point of touch judges? They do absolutely nothing.

They are no different from any other fan in the ground with a flag except they don't pay to get in.

2 out of 2 now Manly have just switched off when they thought they had it in the bag. Haslers going to give them a little extra flogging at training this week.

Now I can see why Jarrad Hayne is the most influential man in League. Isn't he amazing.

Same with Thurston - the last 2 games he's mucked about for the first 60 by trying to do everything

Weren't you saying last week he was MIA?

i do believe Rocky said he was MIA for most the match, as did half the forum.

Yes, which Oxy is pointing out is an Oxymoron if Rock is now claiming he spent most of the match trying to do too much. By definition trying to do too much is the opposite of being MIA.

I tend to think Thurston is guilty of trying too hard more often than not. He might be ready in the 1st minute to unleash a big play and score points, but clearly his less talented teammates need time to warm into the contest. I think Neil Henry would be smart to advise Thurston to adopt a more conservative game plan in the first 20 minutes, give his forwards a chance to get some rhythm and then look to blow holes in the defence in the last 15 minutes of each half.

He's shown he can do it in the second half, usually after the Cowboys have spent the first 20 minutes trying to claw their way into the contest after being behind. Do that from the start and they'll be better placed.

Against the Broncos they came out all guns blazing, Broncos held them out. The Cowboys burnt a lot of energy and lost some confidence when they didn't convert their chances into points, and the Broncos had ALL the momentum for the next 40 minutes.

It wasn't until the Cowboys had knuckled down to try and slow down the game, get their forwards back into an armwrestle with the Broncos that it opened the opportunity for some attack. Broncos helped with 2 errors off kicks, and from there the momentum totally shifted.

It was similar on Saturday night from what I saw.
