And is slapped on the wrist

Manly Sea Eagles chief executive Graham Lowe's tough-talking has amounted to little more than a slap on the wrist for Tony Williams after the NRL club refused to stand down the giant winger over his drink-driving charge.

Williams is facing a yet to be determined fine whilst also being ordered to undertake community service and enrol in a traffic offenders program after failing a random breath test in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Sydney's west.

It is alleged Williams recorded a blood alcohol reading more than twice the legal limit, yet the Sea Eagles cleared the 21-year-old to play in Monday night's clash against premiers Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

So Manly let a play slide, We stand Alfie down... We must look good.

I just wish all of these numb nuts would get the message you do not get into your car if you have been drinking *slaps forehead*

Nah, much better to recklessly endanger the lives of fellow road users.

Manly had a much more severe punishment.
Allan langer got what a 2 week holiday break off work and straight back into it.
Williams got fined $15,000.

I'm sure Williams would of preferred a week or two off instead of 15k out of his pocket ;)

You think money is a severe punishment? Williams could've been dropped, replaced by some youngster who stars and then have trouble getting back into the team. That'd be a bigger punishment.

So Alfie spent two weeks waiting to go to court and wondering if he will keep his job, and that somehow makes it a holiday.

What do you do on your holidays pwn walk around Ipsiwch?

In all honesty, 15k isn't much for professional footballers. 15k for them is like us paying $5. They get paid in the hundreds of thousands am I correct?

The good ones, yes. Williams isn't good.

Will it be deducted from his pay or will he still pay tax on it, is another Q.
