Maybe you need to ask your team's coach - seeing as he is the one who said the reason Hayne wasn't picked for game one is that Dugan is a better fullback and he wasn't going to pick players out of position. Before then saying that he thinks Hayne is a 5/8 anyway.
The point being that Ricky is totally going back on what he said and picking Hayne on the wing - ergo being a hypocrite.

Hopoate is such a ridiculous pick that he counts twice. Seriously, look at the statements he's made. Clubs were offering him boatloads of cash. And despite breaking out this season, he's willing to sacrifice all the progress he's made to do the mission. He's clearly not going to change his mind. This is an epic reach.
Also, Hayne might not be out of position, but he's being played in a position where his ability to use his qualities is severely reduced. Yes, he's still the best option at wing, but that NSW team is devoid of creativity, particularly compared to QLD. Lockyer v Soward? Soward creates very little, he's an organizer more so than a playmaker. Pearce v Thurston? Pearce is a very poor man's Thurston. Likewise, Ennis is a poor man's Cam Smith. These are strong players at club level who come up short in the Origin arena. They need help to create things and putting a player like Hayne on the wing hardly helps that.
As for Gallen, maybe he does play like a prop, but structurally that whole forward pack is just off. Watmough and Creagh are at their most effective on the edges playing in a team who are winning the yardage battle. Once more, Creagh really is clueless in attack at this level. If the hole isn't there for him to run through then the play just breaks down with him cutting inside. Luke Lewis is a creative player, much like Bird. Unlike Bird, though, he only really becomes useful when NSW are on the attack.
Put simply, NSW have stacked their pack with similar types of player (Creagh & Watmough, Lewis & Bird) who are only really going to shine in a team that is winning the yardage battle, whilst woefully neglecting to pick players that will actually win the yardage battle.
It's a purely bizarre set of selections, and whilst it's admirable that you still support them, you can't seriously be telling me this is anywhere close to what the team should be.

Gallen is a really good core forward and plays a front row style no issue about it. HOWEVER, NSW has picked 3 edge players in their starting pack and only Merrin on the bench as another core forward. Stuart is asking Gallen, Mannah and Merrin to match Civo, Scott and Hannant in the go forward stakes? No chance.

Gallen is a front rower that plays 80 minutes. Front row and lock are very similar positions for most teams. That said however they still didn't pick enough core (guys who play in the middle 3rd of the field) forwards. Scott, Lewis, Bird, Watmough, Creagh are all better at running wide. So if this becomes a grind it's going to be a long day for NSW because none of those guys (maybe bar Lewis) usually defend in the middle.
