Although my understanding is that Rock watches every game with a notepad and pen and counts every tackle, hit up, line break, missed tackle, dropped ball, try, goal, field goal, attempted goal, tackle bust, kick, 40/20, pass, dummyhalf run and try assist.

Yeah. He uses a stat machine. It's in a white box down in a paddock. It's phenomenal. Way more accurate than NRL.com.
