Just saw this on FSN, died from cancer apparently. Always liked him, sad to hear.

That's massive news unfortunately.
VERY sad indeed.
He was by far my favourite umpire. An absolute professional of the highest quality order. I'll always remember him for taking Waqar Younis out of the attack for bowling 2 "beamers" in a row at The Wanderers ground in the 2003 World Cup (Aus. vs. Pakistan) and for his very quirky (and fun) hop from foot to foot when the score contained only one digit (e.g 1/111, 2/222 etc.).
A truly wonderful and dedicated servant of the fantastic game of cricket. The game is very unfortunate to have lost such a quality umpire and cricket personality of such knowledge and experience.
I'm very appreciative for all he has done for the game on so many continents.
