Can't speak for Silverwood, but having Archer get that award says a lot about the standard of refereeing at the moment.

Dally M and RLIF Halfback of the year can't even get a run in the 4 Nations. Woeful.

Which part is it that you all think is woeful? That Carney can't get a run in the 4 Nations or that he won all these bloody awards? For mine the woeful part is the second thing.

He actually doesn't deserve a run in the 4 Nations - he is not in better form than Darren Lockyer and teams should always be selected on form. And all these awards do is perpetuate the myth. Don't get me wrong he had a great season, but he is still a long long way from being one of the very best. I am going to be very interested to see if he can back it up next year and the year after that and so on.

^^^ This.

Far out League fans seem to get obsessed with the "next big thing" mentality. Any kid who has an awesome season suddenly HAS to be first picked for rep teams, usually at the expense of a tried and tested professional.

Like the calls by some that Hayne should've been Australian fullback last year because he was Dally M etc...forget the fact Slater was on the premiership winning team.

and that Jayne was a **** head flash in the pan overrated turd burger.

Scott Prince has done a f*ckload of work to get to being one of the best Halfbacks in the competition.. htf do you not think he deserves a spot over Cronk? The guy single handedly raises the Titans to being a solid top four side. joke.

He's been great for a long time now, no reason he won't back it up next year or the year after that. IMO he hasn't had a fair go at rep level.

So one season is a long time now is it? Well that must mean Lockyer has been a champion for eternity.

Are you even reading the f*cking posts? I'm talking about SCOTT PRINCE. Not Todd Carney. Scott Prince had been playing at an exceptional level for YEARS. Not one year. jesus.

Why one season? He has been very good for the past few years.
And as above, I'm speaking about Prince, not Carney.

It especially annoys me when dip-shits like Gidley get automatic selection at every level but even with injuries it seems he's not even considered most the time.

OK, let me clear this up. I will admit that my first post was probably wrong as it spoke about Carney when you were referencing Prince (I didn't correctly read "halfback" and thought you were talking about Carney, so my apologies on that one). However broncospwn replied to my post that specifically named Carney with "he's been great for a long time now ..."

But on the subject of Prince, I agree he has been playing well, but I think he and Cronk are probably on par ATM and both should have been named in the Roos sqaud - ahead of Carney.

I don't see anywhere in pwn's post that references Carney.. we've both been talking about how Prince hasn't got a true shot at rep level.
