Only if you have a standard clause in the contract you signed that states, don't bring your working environment into disrepute.
 
Interesting that this latest attrocity is a virtual replica of the one he committed last year - in september right after the Tigers' campaign ended.

Yeah, so you can't get one. But if you're already employed and go through the courts etc I don't think they sack you for domestic violence. I've never heard of anyone getting the flick for it.
 
Yeah I guess it depends on the manager and businessyou work for.

I really wish they would sack people for domestic violence.

Seriously, if he's convicted, the NRL should just get rid of him.

Cowboys have suspended him indefinitely. I think the NRL needs to tear up his contract and the Cowboys need to sack him.

(I'm sure the Cowboys and the NRL are currently sourcing legal advice etc about the whole thing, BUT SERIOUSly....sack him)
 
He has to be deregistered. NRL got involved in the Brett Stewart case, and they have to do the same here.
 
I think the cowboys will sack him. He should be sacked no doubt. A really dumb move by the Cowboys by signing him IMO.
 
I read those comments as the Cowboys not wanting to sack him. I think Gallop will step in though.

They'll have to pay out his contract too I reckon. He hasn't commited any offence under the Cowboys contract, so I suspect there could be some legal issues here. Although if the NRL de-register him, that might cancel out his legal obligations? Who knows.

Surely there would be something written into his (and probably every league player's) contract regarding illegal activity and the subsequent rights of the club to terminate the contract. Especially given his history.
 
I'd say the Cows had a fair idea he would plead guilty before they signed him which can only mean they will stick by him.

The Cows have released a statement saying he has been in counselling and will continue blah blah everyone deserves a second chance blah blah he's young etc etc.

All the usual BS but it's hard to flick a bloke when others haven't been, they have to be seen to be doing the the right thing.

The fact the NRL isn't harder and more decisive on this issue detracts from the women in league initiative though.
 
I find it repulsive that he only gets a good behaviour bond and a $2000 fine for kicking his g/f's head.

If the normal justice deals with it this way, what justification does a club or the NRL have to sack him? :shake:
