I cannot say my source is impeccable, just someone whom I know really well. He had friends up this way last week who were in town for the horse racing. One of them has drinks with Stuart on a regular basis. Every week on the same day I understand . He indicated to my old mate that Stuart was off to the Roosters next year.....I prefer facts myself and feel uneasy writing this but it is the internet, the truth was the first casualty it claimed.

I would be suprised if Sticky got another gig at Easts. He did nothing after Gus and Freddy left and took the club backwards a few years and was sacked for a good reason. If it was up to me to choose the coach I would offer Jason Taylor the position. In his time as a caretaker coach he has shown he can coach and change the confidence of a team, South made the wrong choice dropping him for John Lang. Taylor also coaches the Roosters under20's or something.

No matter who it will be, the position they're in will not change at all.

The Roosters are a waste of space, can't even get 10k home crowds.

LOL!

The game that was on 9 a few weeks ago was an embarrassment to the game, it looks like 500 people were there even if the crowd numbers were above 9k.

I wouldn't be disappointed if the Roosters got kicked out of the game but it won't happen.

As long as it's not Brian Smith, surely it's a win? Biggest finals choker of ALL time.

Would be the worst thing for them to go back to Stuart mainly because he is an incredibly defensive coach, his sides never ever win by scoring a lot of tries and maing big inroads in a 26 round season you have to be able to put sides to the sword and Ricky's style does not cater to this. He won the competition with Gus and Murray's team and got them to the finals a few more times on the back of great innovative defence. They were much like the Melbourne of today in that respect except Melbourne can absolutely destroy sides with the ball as well. Guys like Maloney and SBW would be hampered massively under his style where their off the cuff styles would be held back and the side would suffer. He is the type of coach someone like Canberra needs, give them some discipline and heart so they can grind out wins and hold teams to low scores to at least give themselves a chance.

It's the roosters ffs! Why do we care apart from the lolz factor?

Rumours are Ricky Stewart to replace Stephen Kearney

Ricky Stuart would be even worse for Sandow than Kearney has been.

I don't think Kearney is anything to do with Sandow's poor form.
Chris Sandow is the problem with Chris Sandow.

Meat Pies are the problem for Sandow.

Lolz! The poor crowds that the Cows get from time to time are nowhere near as bad as the Rooster crowds.

Titans I'll give you, but the Roosters crowds are far more concerning than the cowboys.

Roosters are absolutely terrible though. Cowboys are at least a big chance of winning each week. Cowboys have had lower crowds than the Roosters this year too. Cowboys crowd figures are inflated by the game against us which always sell out and the other big game against Melbourne. The rest have been rather embarrassing.

The difference is though, you don't notice it on TV because Dairy Farmers is a small stadium. The SFS is not.

All fair enough points. And whilst I agree their crowds should be bigger, I don't think it's too unreasonable to think that in the future they can return to having stronger crowd numbers. Afterall, they basically monopolize the North Queensland sporting landscape, which gives league a bit of a stronghold that is important for the game moving forward. I can definitely understand that given this, it's a bit of a concern the crowds aren't better, but at the end of the day I think the simple fact that the NRL has a team in this region is important, so the club's existence is strongly serving the game in that sense.

The Roosters on the other hand, well it's not exactly like the people of Sydney wont have a nearby team to watch. I guess my point is, that whilst both crowds might be disappointing, I can see how North Queensland, even with poor crowds, serve the game in a way that is important moving forward. I am honestly not sure I can say the same about the Roosters.

With all that said, all those concerns plus more exist for the Titans. I genuinely don't feel there's all that big a market for them to secure, and I've big doubts about their potential to positively impact the game.
