agreed. smith on the bench instead of gillett to cover injury to wallace or locky who have had bugger all game time in trials.

I can't help but think having a halfback on the bench as cover for Lockyer is a bad idea. Lockyer doesn't need cover he will be fine.

Judging from the trial I saw at Ballymore, I don't think having Smith or Hunt there will be exclusively used as cover for Lockyer. At one stage Smith, Hunt, Norman and McCullough were on the field at the same time and that was while Folau was at fullback. Ivan and the boys have got a plan!!

maybe so but with our forward pack I would prefer 4 forwards on the bench.

Yes but I'd prefer to see Glenn on the bench and to only play in the backs if there is an Injury!! Lockyer really doesn't need to be covered by a half on the bench and this roaming play maker role will be too much. Surely 1,6,7,9 can create enough oppurtunites for the team.

To all the people picking Gillette.. have you seen him play? And, what sort of player is he?

I haven't picked him, but have seen him play and he is still a little bit raw IMO. He will get his chance this year for sure but not in round 1.

I've only seen a handful of games, but he looks promising. He had a good season for Norths last year, and I've read that Henjak has big wraps on him. I think I recall him being on the Broncos books before, but he ruined his chance. Not too sure what happened there.

To answer your question though, he is a ball-playing back rower. I believe he has played some 5/8 and center as well.
