Brisbane could have had him before that; Slater's dad played for Redcliffe and when Slater came down from North Queensland he sent him there to ask for a run. Slater told them he was a half and Redcliffe said we are all good we have the Queensland Under 17 half in our Colts. Norths is up the road go there. Delivered him straight to the Storm.
