Round 4 - Broncos vs Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

I get so frustrated watching our games this year. So many simple things going wrong.

Next week might be our first encounter with a team that has been going fairly well. Should be good.

Depending on results, we can go to the top of the ladder. Not very likely though.

it's a win........that is all.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Should've beat them by a lot more as Penrith were there for the taking but too many handling errors again prevented that. Fairly scrappy match at times but a win is a win. When the boys start working a little more fluently, then the points will come.

Good win.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Defence has been awesome again. We need more work done on the back three defending against kicks, the others have to work a bit harder at shielding them. The attack is spluttering, but I'm like some of the others, I think we are going to click soon and that will fall into place. Good involvement from both Locky and Wally, building from last week.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Copley is not a winger.
He is a centre.
Bring in Kemp or give Gagai another crack.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

It usually takes awhile for Griffin sides to click, I suppose the one positive was our defence. Penrith's two tries came from a high ball contest where they caught a rookie out of position and off a forward pass. Sure, Penrith didn't look in control out there, but there's no denying we played a part in that.

I liked how our two bookends went up against Grant and Civo. Thaiday in particular impressed me with his second stint that brought the energy I asked for at half time. Beale, Hodges, Reed and Yow Yeh all played reasonably well.

I think we're getting better with each game, still need to play smarter through the middle of the ruck for the full 80 but we'll get there the more Hannant plays on.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

I'd like to see us play a little deeper and have our forwards hit the ball a little harder (tronc). Timing looks off a bit. Can't wait to see us click.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Hand Break Beale didn't help with the backline movements.
Should of passed it a couple of times instead of going himself.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Teo has been shit.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

But but but Reed is the next De Vere!!

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Don't see what Reed has done wrong. Liking him better than Glenn in the centre.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs. Panthers - Post Match Discussion

I may has well have been in a coma. On the plus side we got two points.

Considering we've improved on the most critical part of our game (defence) then I can't not help but be happy with this.

But our attack is shit. Outside backs are also shit. Beale shit. Reed shit.

Teo back in the centres please.

What the hell were you watching? Granted this was far from a perfect performance but the two players you've singled out as shit certainly are not shit, and were not shit tonight. They weren't outstanding, but they weren't shit either.

That was painful to watch, but we got the two points and that's what matters.

Only real positive tonight for me was our defence.

Our attack is a complete rabble. There is no organisation or cohesion. It is extremely frustrating watching us with the ball inside the opposition's 30. Every time we're there, it seems to be the same thing - hit it up for four tackles and then we'll chance our arm on the last. Deadset, have a go FFS.

Honestly, I know it's still early in the season, but our attack is starting to worry me. I just have no confidence whatsoever, whenever we've got possession in the opposition's half.

I don't think Copley should be playing on the wing either. Doesn't look at all suited to it.

Absolutely frustrating in attack, everyone knows were better than what we've shown.

How long until we click?
