Second Brisbane NRL Bid

Anyone who suggests mergers or relocation in this day and age really my has NFI about the management of the game.

Anyone who suggests another team in NSW is pretty much brain dead. I'll leave that with you.

I know it won't happen, but it would be the only right thing to do from a realistic business point of view.

If the Bears get back in the comp won't they have relocated from North Sydney? Did they die???

The Bears have already done a massive job of engaging the CC community. The fact that they're entering the comp from scratch - as opposed to picking up sticks and moving into town from elsewhere - means they'll be accepted as a local side IMO.

Try using some common sense yourself and stfu... Central coast shouldn't have a side unless Sydney loses teams. Perth and Adelaide are the only way this game is going to make big money from a tv deal. Grow yourself a brain.

Perth maybe. But what is your obsession with Adelaide????

Let's stop the insults before they really take off guys.

I don't think its even due to "starting from scratch." General fans are stupid, they don't know the difference between a relocated team or a new team with an old name. It's all in how the management approach the locals and how they go about making them feel its "their team" and playing regular season games in Perth as the Rabbits do is a good step in doing that.

Perth should get a decent stadium first, the flood fest against 5OUFFS was disgraceful conditions for a NRL match.

I don't have obsession with Adelaide at all, growth of the game is paramount and expanding into states with no team and engaging new fans is the best way to grow. Adelaide have very little exposure to League and have no Union side so are a very good target for the NRL.

I live in Adelaide and agree with this comment - Adelaide is a good target. We have AFL here and nothing else. A League isn't strong here and there's no union or league. Over the past few years 1 game has been played here and we've got 10,000 to each of them. I know it's not huge but it's no worse than some Sydney matches and at least it's gaining genuine national coverage, and it's not even a local team playing - just 10,000 people coming out to watch any teams play league just to watch some league. IMO Adelaide should not get the next team but should be considered over the next 10-15 years. During that time, the NRL should offer incentives to clubs to bring games to Adelaide. If we can get about 4-6 games per year and still get 10,000 to each it's a good start

Florimo and co have really done an outstanding job of putting a side together, and that area is begging for a team. As I've said before my preference for expansion is bringing in a Perth side and a CC side, either together or within a year of each other.
