No, he's saying Nasser isn't his manager. Alan Gainey is his manager, and Gainey knows nothing about any management change.

Sound familiar?

not too mention secret talks with Bellamy where Bellamy is not revealing anything (surely if he's staying with Gainey that wouldn't be secret)

 Hitman busy currently? How about a visit to mr nasser is in order... [icon_shady

The greed one fits in well, cause it has a bus in the background.

It is his house but his parents wre living in the house.

CH9 just reported that the Bulldogs have agreed in principle to release SBW to Toulon for $750K!

If this is true David Gallop should resign we can't allow a player to break a 5 yr contract!

What has David Gallop got to do with this. if the Bulldogs agree to release SBW for a fee (no matter the amount) then there is nothing the NRL can do, whether they agree with bulldogs decision or not. the NRL won't be able to continue legal preceedings against SBW once the Bulldogs release him, as they will have NO case

Explain how the Dogs accepting the money is Gallop's fault [icon_confu

Initially my thoughts were how clearly the Dogs have changed tact and are merely after the money and they are as bad as him, but thinking about it further who can blame them for taking the money, he ain't going to return it will cost shitloads to run the trial so take the money and move on. I'm over him already and don't care anymore, there's no such thing as principal or loyalty anymore it's all big business.

While I agree with what you say Russo, does this mean that we no longer need to bother with player contracts?

Seems that way, but no doubt the solution will be redrafting them by lawyers of the clubs to have penalty clauses for breaking them etc. I can see us ending up like the football (soccer) where the players are traded by the clubs during the season even, mehhh over it all. Yes it is wrong but lawyers and player leeches / managers will find a way !!

It's not Gallops' fault.

Gallop may have wanted to go to court, but the Dogs just want to move on.

I'm not over it by along shot.

The NRL (Bulldogs, whoever) have to see this thorugh and the NRL should be helping the Bulldogs pay all the way.

SBW has to made an example of. No matter the cost. I understand it's "dead money" as such, but more importantly it sends a message to every other player in both rugby codes. Because, if SBW walks away from this scott free, then no matter what is written into contracts, good enough players (Inglis) will just bolt. All they will have to do is have an under the table agreement with Club X to pay the legal costs of them breaking contract.

The precedent is what this is about,. not SBW.

750 000 apperantly to shut the bulldogs up. Its nothing to European rugby teams, this saga certainly won't deter further raids on the NRL.

The Bulldogs are soft if they are going to accept cash for this BS. The NRL - heck, any code of sport in this country - can't allow this to go ahead, it will open a pandora's box. You simply can't just wal away from a contract. Asking for a releas I have no qualms with. There is a right and wrongway to go about this kind of thing and $BW has gone about it in the completley wrong way!

What I was trying to say is the NRL should look at the contract situation as they are ultimately registered by the NRL.

Who will be next given it has only cost SBW $750K he will make heaps more $$$$$, small price for his freedom.

Now the precedent has been set, break your contract whenever u want, just as long as your new club is willing to pay a fine or a new age transfer fee. Dogs should have run him into the ground and the nrl should've backed them all the way.

And now the ban on Williams playing in the NRL again is apparently a "hypothetical question for the future". I seriously can't believe that, after all the threats and posturing from the NRL and Bulldogs, Sonny-Bill has not had to face ANY negative consequences.

I was impressed with the way I thought they were going to handle it. What a pathetic administration we have.

Yeah the payout figure has just made way for transfer fees for players ala football (soccer). Down the track we could certainly see players bought out for a value deemed fair to buy out their contract. The NRL has set a terrible precedent by allowing the Dogs to accept this cash because agents will feel they can shop their players around with more leeway in terms of their contractual obligations.
