yeah Gallop should be telling the media that the NRL is messed up and the AFL will destroy us.........

The NRL would be half a chance if they were run better. AFL has money and it is what makes the world go round.

I'm honestly surprised people bag him out so much, i guess it's just the 'in' thing to do.

He's the head of the NRL. If people see any weaknesses or problems in the NRL they automatically blame him. Natural, unfair, but natural.

He's had a very difficult job because decisions the NRL make depend on approval from the NRL partnership (50-50 split between ARL dinosaurs and News Limited corporate mofos), if it has any impact on rep football scheduling he has to get approval from the ARL, the clubs themselves get a say on most things, then if there's regional impact the NSWRL/QRL etc have a say.

This independent commission will help, but I still think there'll be some road blocks like that.

In my view he's done a good job considering the difficulties in his job.

I think he is a highly intelligent guy who has in depth plans for the game, and he consistently shows us in interviews he has an answer for every issue, and a lot of the time I agree with what he has to say.

I think we're in a good place with him running the game.

It pains me to say it but i think Phil Gould's interpretation of the rules and of actual game play itself is pretty much always right too. Gallop should be running the big picture and they'd do well to have Gould or ex players in general more involved in how rules are interpreted and enforced.
