So looking at the run home, and doing the NRL.com ladder predictor, we really need to pull off an upset or two between now and round 26 to avoid finish in 7th or 8th and a meeting with the Dragons or Bulldogs in week 1 of the finals. Firstly this is our assignment:

Round 20 - Titans (A)
Round 21 - Raiders (A)
Round 22 - Sharks (H)
Round 23 - Panthers (H)
Round 24 - Dragons (A)
Round 25 - Cowboys (A)
Round 26 - Raiders (H)

Being a little optimistic, I put us down as winners in 4 of those games, losing to the Titans, Raiders away and Dragons, and that put us in 7th. Whether that week 1 meeting is against the Bulldogs or Dragons, it's not looking good.

I know the best game plan is to take it week by week but IMO to be any hope of going further than week 1 in the finals this year we need to prepare for each game as if it is a Grand Final because we need to win against the odds in a couple of our games.

Come on boys [icon_pray.

If we can 4 of those 7 games then we can go far in the finals but to win 4 of those 7 games(on current form I'd say they could only win one of those 7) there needs to be a HUGEEEEE improvement. Folau, Locky, Thaiday back for the Raiders game and if we don't win on Friday than that Raiders game needs to be the start of a turn around.

i'll be happy if we just make the finals...

and i think that if we do make the finals from the position we're currently in, we should be in pretty good form as we would've had to win a few games leading into them.

I'd hate to miss the finals but it might be a good thing for us. Some deadwood could be trimmed, maybe Peter Ryan would wake the **** up and realise defence is the key to finals and just because it's a whole different ballgame doesn't excuse playing like crap for the rest of the season.

Agreed. I think missing the finals would be better in the long term than getting bailed out in the first weekend of the finals, which is most likely going to be the case.

My only expectation for the year was to finish 5 - 8. Even if we miss the finals the only thing I want to see is 100% effort and something from the coaching staff in the way of a better defensive pattern on our line and anything besides dummy half running.

On current form my best guess with all players back is 3 wins which may see us limp into 8th although 8th spot is often decided by for and against so that leaves us in 9th.

Round 20 - Titans (A) - LOSE
Round 21 - Raiders (A) - LOSE
Round 22 - Sharks (H) - WIN (assuming Locky, Kenny and Thaiday are back)
Round 23 - Panthers (H) - WIN
Round 24 - Dragons (A) - LOSE
Round 25 - Cowboys (A) - LOSE
Round 26 - Raiders (H) - WIN

That'd put us on 28 points. We'd probably be equal 8th and need for and against...and we're currently -65...so we'll miss out IMO.

And that's how it ended up when I put through the ladder predictor on NRL.com.

I had:

1. Dragons 40
2. Bulldogs 40
3. Storm 37
4. Titans 36
5. Manly 34
6. Knights 32
7. Cowboys 28 (+84)
8. Panthers 28 (-5)

9. Broncos 28 (-49)

10. Raiders 24
11. Tigers 22
12. Rabbitohs 21
13. Warriors 21
14. Eels 21
15. Sharks 20
16. Roosters 14

Still can't believe Peter Ryan came out and said he doesn't care about the results. Is he kidding himself? He was an avg player at best and a shithouse coach. Piss him off and get someone decent in. It's time our team grew some balls and actually played some decent football. They are an embarrassment to the broncos jersey! We should all go to a broncos training and start a rally against Henjack and Cullen oh and Steve Michaels!

Bruno would have us sent to the Gulag in Siberia or, worse, Redfern!

I really hope we don't make the finals as it stand now. Obviously the team could come out and play the house down for the rest of the season and make the finals but I can't see it happening.

Wow, let's rally against one player and two other guys.

Fark off. 14 of the 17 blokes out there the other night, and a similar amount for the rest of the season, haven't had a dig. I agree Cullen and Henjak have played their part too, but no one could turn around these crap performances without a decent cleanout of the team itself IMO.
